Well I got my review and my raise, it was okay.

This is going to sound bad but I am not used to be told what is wrong with me. In Canada I was always being promoted and just always told I was doing great. Here I am told I am good but need some work. Me? Need work!? WHAT!? NOOO! ;)

I think I have become shy and retreated inside a shell here and I don't understand why. Anyways its something I have to work on.

Congrats!!!!! I've always been told what's wrong me, according to one wag I'm a crazed egomaniac with delusions of Godhood. On second thought, I seem to recall that was listed as one of my strengths. Sprailenes, I wouldn't worry about any so-called shortcomings, because you're good enough, you're smart enough, and, doggonit, people like you.(L)

It wasn't terrible and there was a lot of positive, but you know I only hear the negative bits and then I dwell on them.

I wish I was a robot and then I could just trade in a bad part for a new one.

Someone is coming to view the house this afternoon, fingers crossed! Especially since the house we want to buy just had the price reduced by $7,000! Argh! So I am hoping these are the people!!

milky ways are similar to mars bars...

The Milky Way bar is a popular candy bar distributed by the Mars candy company. The American version of the Milky Way bar is made of chocolate-malt nougat topped with caramel and covered with milk chocolate and is similar to the European Mars bar.

mmm the midnight milky ways are sooo good...

Good morning!

I hope everyone has a Happy Halloween or Samhain if you celebrate either. :halloween:

What's this I hear about no Mars bars? Do you think US customs will let me import a years supply? I better figure that out since it looks like I might have my visa by the end of the year after all.

Morning all!! Hubby & I are doing the classically cheap thing and going out for supper instead of giving out candy.. bah humbug :)

We have a 20$ off coupon for a local "steak house" that has been burning a hole in my hubby's pocket. Bring on the shame :)

i love handing out candy! Best part of halloween!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
