I guess the farmers markets I went to were actual farmers, lol looked more the part. Farmers markets that I have been seem to be people that do it as a hobby. Its more of a niche thing!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Yes, congrats Pandora!!!

Happy and smooth packing.

And now that age ol' question:

Do I really need all this shtuff?!

Thanks, SpiritAlight! :) The age ol' question has already been answered a few months ago when I moved in with my dad so I wouldn't have to renew my lease. Most of my stuff is in storage. What remains is my computer, some clothes and my leatherwork stuff :D

Good morning all!

Yes, there were no farmers at this farmer's market either. The guy that was taking the money was telling someone about the produce 'we' would be getting in shortly....i'm hoping in a few weeks they actually turn up with some direct from the farm produce - oh and it wouldn't hurt if he wore a flannel shirt and some overalls!

The meat pies we bought from the British gent were...not good. The pastry at the bottom was just totally water logged and soft - my potato and cheese pie was asparagus and chicken - my Husband did not like the steak and potato pie at all and threw it away.

I would still buy their sausage rolls though - however why not just make them myself :)

The scones were good, again, I can make those myself...here is their website http://thesconery.com/

Good Morning!

trailmix, what a wonderful looking cup of coffee this morning! Whoa, very decadent! Thank you!

I have a busy day today. Lots of running around to do. My daughter left for Europe on the weekend and called from Munich to say she arrived safely on Sunday. She's gone for 3 weeks and I envy her! My son, who is enamoured with White Castle  will be happy with the WC toque I bought him for his birthday!

Enjoy your day everyone!

You're welcome. It's a really neat idea. I'll show my lack of baby knowledge (or English, or both!): What is/are onesies? First time I see that word.

Looks like you have a few baby showers planned ahead ;)

Very pretty basket Emancipation. The first time I posted, I couldn't see the picture, so didn't comment. :hehe:

I remember the best baby shower and baby presents I got when I had my kids were those type of gifts. We been to a lot of garage sales and had lots of people give us baby furniture to use, but you can NEVER have enough of all those little things...and they cost so much to buy. Wonderful gift!

Morning yall. Another day at the office! Probably will be a long one. I actually have nothing exciting or important to say at all just yet so I will just say GOOD MORNING!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard
