Krikit was in the Big House????????????? :o

honey.. she MARRIED into the big house ;)

Yes, and it was a lovely ceremony too. Just me, my convict, the prison chaplain, and the corrections officer who was our witness (because he was standing next to the groom anyway.... you know.... with those chains and all). :hehe:

I asume the theme was in orange colors? Pumpkins as center pieces? The choir of Prison Gang goes Pop singing "I Want to Break Free"? Luvly!!!!

Yes, orange jumpsuits all around! And rubbah slippas. The choir sang "Us" by Celine Dion:

You say that you're doing you need time

I say you'll be fine

If you would only see

Like you did before

You became imprisoned

Can I reopen the door

And then we kissed.... but just a peck.... they don't allow that sort of thing in there. And in no time at all I was off on my honeymoon. The next time I visited I brought pictures so he could see what a nice time we had. It truly was magical.

Early autumn snow blankets southeastern Saskatchewan

Police advise against travel on Trans-Canada Highway east of Regina

Last Updated: Sunday, October 12, 2008 | 9:40 PM CT Comments17Recommended14The Canadian Press

Travel warnings were issued in southeastern Saskatchewan on Sunday after a heavy snowfall caused numerous accidents, one confirmed fatal.

Environment Canada reported as much as 12 centimetres of snow had fallen and another 10 centimetres was forecast for overnight, along with a slight chance of freezing rain.

One person was killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash on Highway 16 west Yorkton on Sunday night, while another two-vehicle collision involving a pick-up truck and a van occurred south of Regina on Highway 6 just before 6 p.m.

The van had four occupants — a man, a woman and two young boys. All were taken to hospital in Regina.

A man and a woman in the truck were also taken to hospital. Their conditions were unknown.

RCMP said travel was not recommended on the Trans-Canada Highway east of Regina, due to slush buildup on the road and several minor accidents.

A snowfall warning was in effect for Regina, Moose Jaw, Weyburn-Estevan, Moosomin, Assiniboia and Yorkton.

We had snow here in Boise, Idaho on Friday. The news said it was the earliest they'd ever had snow here! It was nuts! I was expecting 20C for our wedding on Saturday but it sure didn't turn out that way. I think it was closer to 0! It sure was chilly! We laughed and said that the Canadians, (all my family) had brought the cold weather down with them! :)

Well the photographers said it was perfect lighting, so that's good. The only thing I wish we had was a sunset. I had planned on taking pictures by the lake with the sun setting, but it just went dark because it was so cloudy. Oh well....I think we may just have to have a portrait session later, that way I can wear my dress again! WOOHOO!

So, last Friday the hubs and i went to Canada to Niagara on the Lake. The whole 20 minute drive to the Peace bridge we fretter over whther he should just present his UK passport or just his green card, or both. We get to the booth and the guy asked where we lived and where we were going. We told him and he said OK. We felt kind of let down, but also glad at the same time. Canada is so reasonable.

Of course, we were grilled upon our return to the US.

Oh! I'm so jealous you went to NOTL! :crying: Yeah.... I love the Canadian Peace Bridge guys. They rawk. Last November I met my daughter and her friends at Walden Galleria as I was driving up to Canada. We left ahead of them and called to tell them to go to Guy #8 when they came through. Her friend calls back to say "Good call on Guy #8. He was cute." Turns out she tried to pick him up while he was questioning them.

We had a great time in NOTL. Ate that the Olde Angel Inn, where G enjoyed some nice bangers & mash and then we shopped at the Scottish Loft for some British Treats. Branston Pickle was astonishingly priced at $7.49, but since its so yummy, we cought it anyway. And some other nice tidbits. :star:

LOL @ the Peace Bridge pick-up!

Total thievery, but we've gotta have the Branston!

Its not at Wegmans. I've looked. I wonder if I ask them to order it for the Brit food section if they'll do it. maybe I'll write up a note when I'm there this weekend.

I love NOTL - I lived in St. Catharines for 7 years and spent a lot of time in NOTL. Did you know that the Angel Inn is haunted? Yep! Prices have two seasons there - things are substantially cheaper in winter than in summer when all the tourists are around. The town is very pretty in winter, though. You can see it in winter in the movie 'The Dead Zone" with Christopher Walkins - it was filmed in NOTL.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Since deciding to immigrate my work productivity has gone wayyy down. I'm on the management team for a hotel. I spend 10% of my time doing literal work. 30% e-mailing Jeremy useless banter back and forth, and 60% randomly posting on VJ. Has anyone else found this trend to be applicable to them? Or am I just one of those young people with no respect for their job? lol

Gotta say I'm not surprised by the election results... the Liberals need to do some serious soul searching IMO.. and kick Dion out of the leadership.

I think a minority gov. is the best outcome we could have had. That will keep 'em in check
