Good luck unpacking trailmix. If I lived closer I'd come on over to help you! Or, I could come over with supper after your long day of unpacking. Your new home looks dazzlingly clean. Nice way to move into a new place eh? The 4 to 3 or vice versa plug situation is easy to change.

Have fun today...and don't work too hard.

More pics!

just check craigslist for a used portable one! majority of houses now a days already have built in ones!!

I have my posting up on craigslist - plus I have emailed 3 people who have one up there (although they were a few days old) no replies!

Thanks for the help and dinner offer Carla :)

Oh I think this site is pretty cool - I get a newsletter from the elated site (great site for free webpage templates btw) - anyway in the newsletter they always give "Simon's Site of the Moment"

This was in today's newletter:

http://www.mixwit.com/

As a person of a certain age, I remember the days of creating

mix-tapes for girlfriends, and the joys of taping pop songs from

barely-afloat pirate radio stations in the North Sea. Somehow MySpace

and iTunes just don't have the same romance or tactile feedback of a

good old AGFA C-90.

Enter Mixwit, with the simple idea of resurrecting the compact

cassette tape online. Essentially, you make up a playlist based on

music from various online sources, which is then presented as a

"tape". I'm not entirely sure as to the legality of such a site, but

it's enormous fun, and the authentic skins of old tapes make me feel

terribly nostalgic.

Here's one I made earlier:

I have a job interview tomorrow (yay) for a call centre (boo) so it's only 9/hr (boo) but it's across the parking lot of my apartment complex (yay).

Evidently decent public transportation is part of the Socialist Agenda here in Texas, so I'm hoping the commute and savings on lunches will offset the wages. Working anywhere else would involve a car, which I can't drive, and y'know, gas.

Sad to think that gas is so high right now my 30 second walk might be giving me more takehome pay than many, eh?

Good luck on the job interview, Galateia! That's awesome that it's right on your doorstep.

Oooh! Oooh! That reminds me! We paid $3.10/gallon for gas the other night!

I posted a rant in the rant thread after getting back to my apartment. I did NOT appreciate being treated like scum off the street, and forced to walk through their little tests that asked me the things they'd already asked me at the pre-clearing interview. With my resume, they should be kissing the ground I walk on and thankful they're close enough to tempt me to work there, not treating me like a pimple-faced teen con fresh out of juvvie. :protest: They scheduled me for an official interview Friday like they were doing me a huge favor ... I'd barely be getting more than I'm getting from EI working there, what do they have to be so haughty about? I am not liking what this implies about how they view their workers. Maybe it was a scare tactic.

I'm really not thrilled at the prospect of working there, I was making over 11.50/hr with $400 bonuses every month in Canada doing the same work. I'd paid my dues in the trenches and had swiftly moved up to coaching other agents and being groomed for a Manager's position before I left. I was appreciated, valued, and respected as one of their best in the centre and held up as an example to new agents. Now I'm faced with going back to being the lowest rung on the ladder that everyone steps on.

Not impressed.

So I'm still looking, but I can't beat the commute, or lack thereof. Anywhere else has extreme transportation issues. I'm not happy about the cut in pay, but if they treat me well I'll manage. I don't expect to be coddled, but I expect my worth to be acknowledged.

Yes trailmix I could skate on those floors!

Oh so its kind of funny going to do a bit of grocery shopping and throwing a pregnancy test in with your fruits and veggies and other items.

By the by, I peed on the stick and its a NAY!

I knew that because I know my body. I just know these things.

I am really relieved because I was starting to think it could be a possibility with everyone suggesting it and all.

I would like another child, but not now.

But I'll hold back. I have to go out for dinner tonight with the out-laws for my husbands birthday. They take him out on his birthdays to the restaurant of his choice. God knows I'll need a drink or two during that!

Is it? Yes, I can see how it could be. I think maybe I'll do that the next time I'm out shopping with my husband.

Congratulations on not being pregnant, Sprailenes! lol
