My mother n law sent us one, and it was yummy!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

My boy sent me almost the exact same arrangement for our 5 year anniversary back in August - it was amazing... I was so surprised! I hope Nick loves it Laura!

I just booked a ticket to visit R for a quick visit Oct 31-Nov 3. 2 days, 3 nights. We're also seeing eachother for sure this weekend from Friday-Wednesday and then Nov. 20-25 and December 28-Jan 4. I'm super excited that we are getting so many visits in before we make our moving plans.

For anyone interesed American Airlines has return NYC (LGA) - Toronto tickets for around $200-$230 return inlcuding taxes and everything right now!! Crazy sale!!

I have a job interview tomorrow (yay) for a call centre (boo) so it's only 9/hr (boo) but it's across the parking lot of my apartment complex (yay).

Evidently decent public transportation is part of the Socialist Agenda here in Texas, so I'm hoping the commute and savings on lunches will offset the wages. Working anywhere else would involve a car, which I can't drive, and y'know, gas.

Sad to think that gas is so high right now my 30 second walk might be giving me more takehome pay than many, eh?

Good morning!

Morning-coffee1.jpg

Good luck on the job interview today Galateia. I think a job that you get to walk across the street to get to would be good. Might mean you could pick up some quick overtime as well. I don't know what you did back in Canada. Were you making a lot more money there?

I've never had a fruit arrangement, but my mouth is watering when I look at the pics here. I'm sure anyone would enjoy getting one of those!

It's starting to come together trailmix...I'm so excited for you!

Ok, someone is riding the emotional rollercoaster

I think that short of a 'communte' would just be wonderful

Yes krikit, the relocube likes it's new warmer clime lol, Carla, it is coming together and that is great! I was kind of thinking it's interesting - we are going from an apartment, which reminds me of a hotel (none of our own stuff I guess), to a house that we are renting month to month - so I will unpack some stuff but certainly not all - to buying a house probably early next year.

Emancipation - 'lovingly used' - oh interesting thing about our now dented dryer - it's fairly new and has a 4 prong plug - the house is not that new and has a 3 prong dryer plug, so Mike discovered yesterday. I have been doing a bit of internet reading and apparently the plug is easy enough to change.

So today Mike will drop me off over at the house and I will start getting some stuff out of the totes - he will being going to home depot to get the shower curtain rod - a dish rack etc etc (haven't decided whether to invest in a portable dishwasher or a counter top model).
