Did you guys see this? I didn't feel like started a thread for this.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Oh and I got my Canadian election ballot in the mail on Saturday. Now I just have to look up online who is running.

Then I put the ballot in an envelope. Then I put that envelope in another envelope. Then I put that envelope in the mailing envelope

I was just reading this story in the Orlando Sentinel, yesterday's paper.

Two guys, both running for the Florida House District 40 seat.

On their credentials they both list 'Boy Scouts' as one of the reasons they are qualified to have the seat - showing their community involvement.

Anyway, upon closer inspection they find that Eric Eisnaugle (who listed his boy scoutedness second on his list of community involvement - even above being a member of the Florida and Orange County bar association) was never actually a boy scout, he had joined Webelos - boy scouts for those too young to be boy scouts and the other guy, Todd Christian, was never a member

Last night I went to the theater and saw a play that made little or no sense to me I tried.. i really did to 'engage' but it just didn't do much for me. *sigh.. sometimes I wish i was more artsy.. it was well done (a good production) just kinda a play that didn't make much sense :P

Good morning Charles, Carla and E. I will be away from my desk this morning doing some things with the buses on my university campus. We have a shuttle services we provide to the students if their walk is too far from class to class. (personally I think this is just pure laziness but that is just my opinion ;) )

What was the name of the play?

Good morning all!

So there you are Carla, what did you and Gene do this weekend, where did you go?

We went to Kansas City for the weekend. It was nice. A little muggy. Let me see...well, we went to a Royals/Sox game on Friday night. Then we went to various neighbourhoods during the day. Had coffee, nice drives, a little shopping. We went back to the hotel and had a nice swim, then off to supper at a great Irish Pub. Did some geocaching, then home on Sunday. I'm still a bit out of sorts. It's a whole bunch of things I think...some health issues that I got hit with at the Dr's office last week, some issues around people here that I volunteer with, and their lack of passion about some issues I feel very strongly about. I can't make people care...I just hate it when people are so much about "what's in it for me".

Morons. I wonder which one will win? :hehe:

Thanks for the coffee, Carla. I'm sitting here with my Tim Horton's. I think Canada may be detrimental to my health. I seem to have picked up some sort of virus. Nothing strong enough to make me lie down and groan, but just enough to make me know that I don't feel all that well. I did a survey in my head and realized that the only time I've been sick these past two years is when I've gone back to Canada. I think I'm allergic to it. The good news is that I always lose weight when I'm here. :)

Wow that sounds like a very busy weekend to me Carla!

I was thinking about S&J today, the Canada forum member who had a problem with her xray and we never heard back from her, so I just went searching and found this post from her:

Apparently all is well and she has moved to the U.S.!
