And how hard is it really to just let go ?

:P

I'd love to meet someone who found it easy. When it comes to lovers, friends, family, etc. pretty much every one I have known in my life has a hard time letting go. I can criticize others so easily and say, "your boyfriend is beating you up! why are you staying?" but then days later, I'm in my own pickle and no one can tell me to leave/let go/forget.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

Someone wise once said.. it's not a bad thing to believe/want the best for people.. That's my issues with letting go. I WANT to believe they can change/be better/ rise above.. there is no shame in that.. I'll never regret those things.

Yes, Emancipation, hold them able.

Absolutely.

After all, if what we focus on is more of what we get...

Hmm...oh boy.

Thanks for that Treble. It is so easy. That old adage: please take my advice because I am currently not using it.

Hee, hee.

I am not meaning to make small any of this.

It is challenging.

Sometimes though I find it easy.

I wish it was always like that.

Come on genie!!

I know, me and my cats, I don't know where to post anymore...It's not a vent, neither something about my cats....:P

Well in the past few weeks I have been having that need to adopt/save an animal. Since Torri, and then the last 2 weeks there have been 2 potential dogs that we could have adopted, and my husband wnats a dog really really bad, and so do I. It's just a bad timing and we have decided to wait.

Meanwhile, about 2 weeks ago we got a litter of kittens ( well it's not unusual, we are loaded with kittens) and they were only about 3-4 weeks old. There was 5 of them. Someone tried to give them food and because some of them were eating a little bit on their own they were classified as " don't need to be bottle fed anymore " kitten. Few people noticed they were going down, but with only the few of us to feed them with a bottle from time to time or to give them fluids, they started going downhill. We had to euthanize 2 of them in the past few days  It made me really sad, because we've had younger kittens that made it before , just because they were getting more attention from the staff. They need to be closely monitored, cleaned, fed, weighed, etc.

So we talked about it and my hubby agreed for me to bring the rest of the litter home. They don't have any goopy eyes, no diarrhea, no sneezing, they even know how to clean themselves a little bit and for the most part they use the litter box. So all they need is a little help to make it through the next few weeks and get weaned properly and they will be wonderful cats :luv:

So here are the kittens I am fostering now, 2 girls (grey and black/white) and 1 boy (all black) My cats are a little hissy right now, but it's mainly because the grey kitten is hissing at them :P They still look like aliens with their half blind eyes. They are considered about 4-5 weeks old.

Great job Mehphs!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

I think it's Mags.

Cute kittens, Mephys.

I hate getting my hair done, too, Trailmix. Makes me feel trapped.

Hope your parents come for Christmas, Marilyn.

Also hope I haven't missed anything. Don't want anyone to think I've forgotten about them. :(

I'm off to see my Uncle now, then maybe a bit of shopping. It's a beautiful beautiful day here in Sunny Ontario. 27c
