Hey has anyone here ever used a Quija board? IR5 mentioned it in another thread which made me think of it - and also confirmed what I think he does in his spare time, but I digress - sooo have you used one, what was the result, good fun or are you talking to the spirits out there!?

My roommates in college broke out a Ouija board one night and had most of the dorm in our room. Apparently it was going quite well and they were "talking" to something or someone until I walked into the room, and it started to flip out and start spelling out the word hate over and over. I told them -- ask him (apparently it was a civil war soldier or something) if he likes me. The immediate answer was no and the word hate over and over. I then told them to ask it why ---they spelled out c-h-r-i-s-t-i-a and then it went nutty again. I laughed and walked out, and apparently they had a hard time finding anything else to talk to after that. I am convinced to this day that it was reacting to the fact that I am a Christian. My roommates did not know at the time that I was, and I did not tell the people operating the stylus. That has been my only experience with a board.

Creepy.

My last encounter with a Ouija board (when I was a teenager) conjured up "a murderer". That was enough for me to not want to "play" anymore.

Yes, some fascinating experiences with a friend who got a lot of valuable messages and information. As she is writing a book about her experiences she has asked me not to 'give away' any of the information she received; suffice to say it was enlightening, inspiring, and positive. For more information about what information can be conveyed through a Ouija Board - and 'channeling' - google "Messages from Michael", "More Messages from Michael" and the Michael Teachings (not Arch Angel Michael, btw). It is eye-opening. I view myself as a student of the Michael Teachings.

You often 'get' back what you bring to this medium, so if you approach it as a game you get mischievious and playful energies; if you approach it as a positive learning tool/communication tool with an intent for a positive, inspirational experience, you will get a more positive 'teacher' responding. If you ever get a message offering fear or hate or negativity, say goodbye to that energy and let it go - it is not anyone you are interested in talking with; they have nothing to offer you. The Ouija Board is a focusing tool, nothing else; it is how you use it that makes it a positive or a negative experience.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Hmm yes perhaps, unless you don't believe in spirits! It is sold in the toy department, so most people look at it that way, but I'm sure everyone has had some experience with one.

We've used it a few times (my Sister and I). It's funny when you are with a group of people there is usually that - are you moving it, NO! are you moving it!?

The last time we used one we were at my Aunt's house. She lives in an old Victorian house and we were sleeping up in the attic, the room looks like something out of a movie, the old dolls, brass beds etc (pretty but spooky depending on your mood haha).

Anyway I don't remember the details but I ended up getting freaked out and that was the end of that session.

trailmix is right... it is sold in the toy department. it is made by a toy company. it is a toy, nothing more. i think people get out of it what they want to. the power of suggestion is very interesting indeed.

That's bad. The whole thing is bad. That they make couples move apart for an extended period of time - I still don't understand it. Glad you are going up on Wednesday too, that will make you feel better. How long are you staying?

I am staying until Sunday, I haven't banked much vacation time yet, so with it being a 4 day weekend in the U.S. for Thanksgiving, I only have to use 1 vacation day. Hopefully, Air Canada will be good to me, and the Canadian Immigration people too. They always give me such a hard time.

I am thinking about renaming my blog to 'The Accidental Immigrant' Whatcha think?

I think that is an excellent idea

So what is the scoop going in to Canada? Do you just bring proof of ties like Canadians do, when going the other way.

It must be getting late, I had to re-write that last line twice so it would make sense haha

Last time, I just brought my complete CIC immigration file, complete with my withdrawal letter and my FOSS notes. I have a couple pay stubs and a lease agreement for my apartment in Phoenix just in case. My file must be flagged or something, same with my husband. He gets pulled into secondary every single time when he is returning to Canada and they just ask him over and over why he isn't a citizen yet (he has been a PR for about 13 years). It's funny because he has no problems whatsoever arriving on the U.S. side.

That is weird about your Husband and uncalled for, I mean really, he has been here so long. I guess once someone is flagged it's just going to be a hassle always.

So when he moves he will lose his PR status, do you guys care or have you both had enough of the great white north?
