Morning!!!!!

Last night hubby & I went out to celebrate his new "crown" (long story short - hubby had dental work done in the Navy - a few years later a civilian dentist "destroyed" said dental work and his tooth then started falling apart. Hubby (who by this time is going through a bitter divorce, and has many different priorities for his $$) ignores said tooth and it gets bad fast. When I met him - he'd be eating (only on one side cause the tooth had almost disintegrated), and pieces of tooth would fall out. I MADE him go get a root canal (most overpriced piece of dentistry I've ever seen - over $1000 - our co-pay was like $300), and then we lost our dental insurance. SO we finally are back on track almost a year later, and hubby FINALLY gets his new fake tooth - so we celebrate with a trip to Ruby Tuesdays (does anyone else love their salad bar?). ANYWHOO.. Target is practically in the same parking lot so I ask him if we can go and take a look around (he rolls his eyes of COURSE).. We go into the seasonal section and there is the charcoal Weber grill my hubby has been DREAMING of, marked down from $70.00 to $16.00!! Look who's smart now for just going to Target to just "looking around"..

That has got to be a Canadian thing. My mum also bbqs all year round. She leaves the bbq in the garage and when she bbqs in winter she just opens the garage door and does her thing. MMMMM..... I said to my husband that I can't wait to be able to bbq all year round once we get our own house and he was like..."um...you can't grill in the winter.." Eff it!

So this is the first day at work in 2 months I've really not had a lot to do and I'm using the internet quite a bit. I'm hiding from my responsibility today!

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard

So very nice!!! I think I could live there. It is one of those places where I truly thing I would be happy in here in the US.

Spirit, your pictures make me wanna say yes to a sailboat. I grew up in the NWT, and prairies and basically all but landlocked, and am not much of a sailor. Hubby on the other hand grew up sailing and racing with his father in Seattle. He thinks we should skip the house part and move right into a boat.

Seeing your pictures makes me think that wouldn't be so bad. :star:

I may have told you that I lived on various boats for a decade.

It is the way of life for me.

So much community right in the heart of downtown (years in Vancouver and a little in Portland, ME and Miami).

Living on land feels dead.

Hence all my trepidation with this flatland city that has Winter.

You cannot do such things here.

Although TheTreble I can see why you would like to live here.

It is quite a fast-paced and full-on zing city!

Everything is big; everything is busy.

It has almost every-thing.
