Yeah, no kidding...this tooth thing is hellish...the ongoing pain.

Bleh.

Oh well it is healing.

How long do stitches in your mouth take to "melt"?

Flames??

Up here in Chi-town, the weather has gone from extremely sunny, blue skies and humidity to wind and dark clouds.

It's supposed to cool off big time and rain and thunderstorms for days to come.

It feels ominous this morning.

Electric.

Yes it is hurricane season and my friends that live on their boats in the Virgin Islands, Miami and Fort Lauderdale...I am thinking of them, too.

Gustav is almost over and we have Hanna, Ike and Josephine.

That last name is my favourite...said with l'accent francais.

And please remember hurricanes have no sex!

Too be honest Im not sure. I believe there are various type of dissoluble suture's and I believe most oral oneswill disappear in 7-10 days!! One's that are outside the mouth typically dissolve in around 2 weeks!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Hey everybody. I'm on my way out the door now. It's an 11+ hour drive to West Virginia so it's going to be a long day. I'll probably drop into VJ tonight when I get to my hotel. Not too much else to do when you're on your own.

See you later. Be good. :P

(sure hope I've got everything)

Have a wonderful trip krikit! How long do they want you to work up there - I suppose they would just like you to stay  - but I mean how long do you plan to stay?

Those are really cute Carla :)

So last night my Husband graciously slept on the sofa, so I could get a good nights sleep. We have a queen size bed here, which is not too bad, but we are used to a King and he flops around and wakes me up like 4 times a night. Last night I slept right through and - well it was just great.

This is why I am so intent on finding a house to rent month to month, so we can get our stuff and we can have our bed back.

I had a hard time sleeping last night--so turned on the TV and for some unknown reason watched palin's speech. I did like her comment "How can u tel the difference between a Pitiful and a hockey mom?? Lipstick, lol It is by no means original, as I have heard it before, but was still funny

GRRRRRRRR. I have had the WORST day. I am finally in my hotel and getting settled. But I HATE THIS ROOM!!!!! I am actually sitting by the frigging door just to try and get some bars on the wireless reception. (Excuse my swearing.... I don't normally do that but I have had a DAY.) :ranting:

Nearly got killed by some a$$hole on the highway. I don't know if he was drunk or what, but he's damn lucky there was a huge grass meridian dividing the highway or he'd be a dead drunk right now. Well, one of us would be, anyway. I guess I should look at the bright side and thank my lucky stars no one got hurt. Long story.... too mad to talk about it right now. Terrible drive. I guess someone was unlucky because they closed a section of one of the highways I was on so I had to find another route..... big accident. I guess I'll just be thankful that I was held up in construction so I wasn't a participant. Anyway, got off the highway and tried to read this freaking atlas that SUCKS!!!!! So I finally reconnect with the highway somewhere past all the farmhouses which I'm sure were very pretty but I was fretting too much about where the hell I was going so I didn't get to enjoy them. Then I see a rest stop and it says "Next Rest Area 37 Miles" so I think "I can wait another 37 miles" and I carry on. FINALLY get to the freaking rest stop after being almost freaking killed so you KNOW I nearly wet my pants.... AND IT'S CLOSED!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHHHH!!!! So my 11 hour drive turned into a freaking 14 hour drive, and now I'm in this crummy hotel room sitting by the freaking door. (Actually, that's kind of funny now that I think about it. lol) Anyway..... I asked the guy at the front desk if he had another room because this one smells like it's got 95 feet of dust in it with freaking flies the size of teradactyls. Plus they've got me in a room with a connecting door and that's just not kosher for a lone female. So the only other room he has is totally unacceptable so I weighed in my mind whether I wanted to try to find another hotel or drive through the freaking mountains in pitch black darkness while I'm exhausted and stressed and haven't had anything to eat all day except some freaking grapes (which were really good, btw, but not exactly adequate).

Hmph.

Oh. Should this have been in the vent thread?
