I need to stop procrastinating. Réjean and I are going to St. Louis tomorrow, and I have nothing packed yet! We're treating this trip as our long-delayed honeymoon!

I've missed St. Louis so much! It has been over 6 years since I was forced to move from there.

Whatcha mean forced Necrotica???

I am happy you guys are off to do the honeymooney thingyyyyyyy

Long story short, I lived with my now-ex-best friend for about 9 months back in 2002, things went down the crapper, and I was kicked out of the house. Without anywhere else in St. Louis to live, I had to leave.

08/25/06 - 08/08/07 - K1 timeframe from mailing the petition to the NSC to K1 approval at the Montréal Consulate

08/31/07 - Réjean makes the big move to the USA

09/22/07 - MARRIED!

10/09/07 - Réjean gets his SSN

Adjustment of status:

10/26/07 - Mailed AOS/EAD/AP

11/23/07 - Biometrics appointment

12/14/07 - I-485 transferred to the California Service Center

12/28/07 - EAD approved!

01/07/08 - EAD received

02/08/08 - GREEN CARD APPROVED!!!!!!

02/16/08 - Green card received!

*headdesk*:

01/02/09 - Réjean loses his wallet containing his drivers license, Social Security card, and green card

02/04/09 - Our best friends bail us out by giving us the money to file for the replacement green card!

02/12/09 - E-filed I-90 for the replacement green card along with the $370 filing fee (including biometrics)

02/19/09 - NOA1

02/25/09 - Biometrics appointment

05/01/09 - Replacement green card received

Removal of conditions:

01/07/10: Mailed I-751 packet by overnight mail to the CSC

01/11/10: I-751 packet delivered and signed for

01/19/10: Received NOA1

01/28/10: Biometrics (did walk-in due to Réjean being out on the road on original date of 02/10/10)

02/03/10: APPROVED!!!

02/05/10: Received e-mail from USCIS saying the card production has been ordered

02/06/10: Received letter typed on plain paper from USCIS congratulating Réjean on his removal of conditions approval

02/11/10: Green card received

Today has been a crazy day- me and sister went to the Quarter- it was pretty quiet down there today. Now we are packing to evacuate- we had several options of places to go but we have decided to rent a condo in Destin Florida!! Beautiful beaches- it will feel like a vacation. We leave at the crack of dawn. Still have lots to do but just wanted to check in.

Ahhh Destin...so beautiful those sugary white beaches and emerald waters.

Sorry you are having to evacuate.

I'm craving hot chocolate and toast right now, and we dont have any hot chocolate :(

Mmmm...that would be good!

Dear Necrotica and Rejean, have a wonder-full connected time!

I am the QUEEN of procrastinating! I'm working hard at it, but it seems like now that I'm not working, I procrastinate about everything. Everything, that is, until something drives me crazy enough that I have to do it! ~giggles~

We may need to share that title...for quite a few of us!

And do you start something, turn around see something else, start that, turn around, see something else...etc. etc. etc.??

Sweet lordy lordy, I have terrible A.D.D.

I think we can all share this title. I mean seriously, anyone dragging their feet on VJ all day instead of doing stuff is procrastinating :P Like waiting for 4pm to get dressed and clean the house when hubby finishes at 5pm, or making laundry when hes out of socks/underwear, etc

I used to do all my homeworks/studies the day before the exam in school

Procrastination FTW!

Oh wow. Stay safe, Stacey. I hope Gustav settles down and doesn't cause any damage. How frightening. :(

So. I woke up at 4:00am and couldn't get back to sleep. post-21394-1220087212.gif

Krikit, I hope you get to nappy today.

Do you have a kitty?

(I forget.)

They are the zen masters of relaxation.

I need to hang with one of those again.

Mmmmm...

Wow MissStacey, horrible that you are having to evacuate, wonderful that you and your Sister are going to Florida for some fun in the sun!

My cat was meowing at my door at around 5-ish I would guess - she wants company....so not all cats are conducive to good sleep

Did you wake up krikit and start thinking about your drive to Canada and work??

Ok so I just released another lizard in the catch and release program - however this one was in the apartment!

I was just about to sit down at the computer and I looked down and saw something that looked like a bit of fluff (this happens when you have a cat named fluffy and live in a cave) - but then the bit of fluff moved, it was a baby lizard.

Whateva!!

No, I just woke up thinking "#######. It's still dark out, and I've only had 4 hours sleep. Why am I wide awake?"

I went and laid down on the couch and fell back to sleep for an hour. Hubby left for the gym a few hours ago. Guess he's having a good time. They have a theatre room where they play movies. It's dark like a movie theatre with a huge screen. Just like a movie theatre, actually, only with treadmills and elipticals and stuff. I bet you anything he's in there watching a movie.

our golds gym has the setup in a cinema room! but its way too hot in there.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

How did you catch it, Trailmix? Did you freak? Did Meowmix see it? Did he freak? I hope I never have to go on safari for one of those ever again. :dead:

So. I was going to pack up and leave today, howevah..... they ("they" being my old employer) did not get back to me to confirm what-when-where-and-how so I refuse to drive up there until I receive that. Well, I refuse to leave today..... et's put it that way. I might leave tomorrow. That'll give them Tuesday to freak out about not getting back to me in time.

All the rain we had last week (a very welcome rain!) washed my daughter's herb garden across the backyard. LOL, who know where all those herbs will wind up growing...if they do. We've had the hardest time growing anything with the ground being so hard and dry. I just hope they wind up somewhere, for her sake. She worked so hard on it. :)
