The funny thing is, when I was with people talking about politics, I heard them rant about this or that. So in the end I was like " So who's the better candidate? " and they were like " We can't tell you because then you would not be able to pick a side by yourself"

 It didn't help me at all...

Oh that's no good at all... it's not about the personality and the 'charm' or the ranting imo.. it's about track record and consistency and real honest to goodness success in business, politics or personal life (ie character).. people promise anything when they are desperate for election IMO....

I still wouldn't know ;)

That said I am glad I don't need to vote for a while here :hehe:

lol :) or you can just vote based on looks ;) tee hee..

Then no one takes my vote...

I mean seriously look at them, Canada or USA doesnt matter.....Bush, Chretien, Charest, etc, etc They were all ugly.

Ok Obama isn't so bad.

My arguments are as valid as a dumb a$$ would be.

I have to go get my TB skin test today.

Bleh.

Poor you...

I had it before for a job, and it isn't so bad. Quick injection under the skin and then return in 24 or 48 hours ( can't remember) so they can see if there is a reaction.

If it is the same test I had once as a child- I remember the Doctor drew a smiley face around it and said if the nose grew (the injection area) there was a problem.

That might be it, or it was an allergy test. It's pretty similar in fact. If your skin becomes red and swollen that means you have the Turberculosis antigen, means you have been exposed at some point in your life. That's what they are trying to figure out. In most cases it's negative though.

Oh I have an inane conversation to share

So my Husband was at work yesterday and someone asked him where he was from (he has a very slight accent).

He told her Australia and they then talked about accents.

She then said....it's like that gecko on tv - he has a really strong Australian accent. My Husband said, um, I think that is actually a British accent.

She said NO, it's an Australian accent.

He decided to leave the conversation at that point

So I would just like to complain that I was pounced on by two individuals in two different threads over in the UK forum. Both of them were stupid American, though. Not British.

Where are they.. we'll go give 'em a piece of CDN "justice" :)

The thing that I'm irritated over is the fact I already had the medical done and the chest X Ray in Canada. Everything was fine.

At the AOS interview he asked me to submit a new medical because of the error that Dr. Chana's office had made.

The Consulate in Vancouver made sure it was fixed and I got my K3 Visa. The officer in Vancouver specifically told me that it was important to have it fixed then and there or it would cause problems down the road. I don't get why Vancouver didn't make note that everything was fine with my medical when they sent everything to the New Orleans office.

AT the AOS interview- I specifically asked if he wanted me to just get the Physical part or everything redone- including chest X Ray and HIV exam. He stammered for a minute and told me just the physical part.

I assume it will cost an extra $125 bucks today- that seems to be the price for walking in the door at the Civil Surgeon I have been going to.

So I would just like to complain that I was pounced on by two individuals in two different threads over in the UK forum. Both of them were stupid American, though. Not British.

Aw KriKit! :(

But if I do end up getting the 10 year card instead of the 2 (our second anniversary has passed so here's hoping)- then this will most definitely be all worth it. :)

Oh, holy #######. I've just been asked if I could come to work for a few weeks at my old job. They want me to start next week. That doesn't give me a whole heckofalotta time to get ready and go. I'll tell them not until the week after.

But this is great! My uncle has been recently diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer.... meaning it has spread to other areas of his body.... the vital organs.... so there's not much hope. (He's the one I mentioned was sick but they couldn't figure out what was wrong with him.) So, anyway, my Aunt and Uncle and Cousin from BC are flying in, and there's a big party next weekend for him. So I was planning on going to that, anyway, but now I get to earn some money while I'm there. Plus, it will be great seeing everyone again.

OMG!!! How am I going to lose 20 lbs by next week?!!!!! :o

OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSS!!!!1!!1
