ya, was a beautiful boat. They dont see to many sail boats by them--guess its not windy enough, so thery have to "tac" a lot??

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Well, I was out and about yesterday. What a mess. Debris everywhere. Our next-door neighbour had flooding in his garage. A few houses around the corner were flooded out because a retention pond in back of them overflowed. The retention pond down the street is close to overflowing. I hope that's the end of the rain. This is nuts.

Here is that sailing boat that was in front of my inlaws house last week. I think it may have been the same one the family rented for a few hours for a bday party in July! But they remained mostly just outside Newport harbor!!

Oh wow. That's lovely. I mean everything.... the lawn, the water, the boat, the beautiful serene day. What a lovely picture.

:blink::blink::blink::blink::blink::blink::blink::blink:

So I just checked out the "unmoderated" board...

:blink::blink::blink::blink::blink::blink::blink::blink:

Won't be doing that again :wacko:

Yeah, it's a little too juvenile for me. It has potential, though, so I may check back in a few months.

Bob's Java Jive - Giant Coffee Pot

Tacoma, Washington

It's accomplishment enough for an old coffee pot-shaped building to still be standing, let alone serving cups of Joe. Bob's Java Jive is one such survivor, weathering gyrations that might crack a lesser coffee pot-shaped building.

Built in 1927 as the Coffee Pot Restaurant by a Tacoma veterinarian, Otis G. Button, it was designed by local artist/promoter Bert Smyser, owner of a commercial display business. The concrete coffee pot stood 25 ft. high, and was 30 ft. in diameter.

Well it looks like Fay will be coming heading our way for a visit. I'm kinda excited actually- I love storms.

You crazy Canadian. :lol:

Please pray for it to stop raining here. The flooding is terrible. The side of our house has been washed away from the torrential downpours and the water is seeping through in one corner. I have a contractor coming today. My husband is at work so it's left up to me.

There is a river running down our street from the retention pond which overflowed. I feel terrible for the people whose homes have flooded. My husband and I drove down to Altamonte Springs, yesterday, to do a bit of shopping. There are huge trees and limbs down everywhere, with men working to get them out of the roads because they are blocking them. There is flooding everywhere. On our way home the skies opened up again. The runoff was flooding across the road because there was nowhere else for it to go. Everyone was hydroplaning. It was frightening.

I am so sad.
