I talked to my old vet back in Victoria and we talked about nutrition---know how much teaching they got on nutrition in vet school?? a rep from Science diet came and gave them a lecture,lol Hopefully things have changed

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

i definitely sought out my husband because of his nationality. I was sitting in my igloo one day and said 'self... you should go and get yourself an American to cuddle with so these long winter nights are not so long any more.. besides you need more sun, so you should get closer to the equator'...

From that point on.. I hunted and I caught my USC.. It's a thrilling love story.... My only regret is that he's not from a more "exotic" location - like Detroit.. or perhaps Milwaukee....

Quelle surprise my friend.. most people I meet when they hear I'm from Canada say "but you don't have an accent" (they mean a french accent)..

I don't think "they" know much about Canada at all really.. it has to be black or white.. either french or english.. but not a beautiful mix of the two fer sure.. Quelle horrors that 2 groups of people would not fully assimilate but yet somehow co-exist!! :bonk:

Wow - ours usually go kaput on the floor when a cat knocks them off (cats even seem to chase 'computer' mouses) - Joe has the one with the ball that rolls around on top and when that thing separates no telling where it will end up! Great cat toy! I guess that isn't what you meant, though . . . I use a logitech cordless and I just love it - I recommend that one if you are thinking along those lines - I've had it for nearly 2 years now and have only had to change the batteries in it once.
