I love your plan - and am really impressed by your energy! Yipes! Can you come here and clean our carpet too - or move our furniture and I can clean it? I mean, it is all the moving and cleaning and moving back that wears me out. Heck, I got tired just reading your post!

Good morning!

Yes, that's an awful lot of stuff to do in one day, an awfulllllll lot of stuff!!!!

I used to be somewhat of a clean freak, but I stopped doing that. Plus if your standards are that high then when you like, move the microwave and clean under it or clean out the fridge, can you still give yourself the same kind of accolades if normally you do 10 things in a day :hehe:

Happy Solstice Every-One!

it's early this year...clicky

Trailmix and most of you here, I want to tell you that when I stopped at Tim Horton's in Ontario on my drive to Montreal, all I could do was this about this site and all of you. Hahaha! And no, I still will not ingest Coffeemate, however....no matter how fond I am of you.

Timmy's coffee is weak.

My partner and I are moving this weekend.

(Thankgoddd there is no regatta scheduled, although I did turn down a few teams' requests.)

Yup, I am going to go out to hunt for boxes for (mostly) his stuff, I hardly unpacked.

I will probably hardly unpack when we move too because my ultimate destination has not been reached yet. :P

It's funny, I hardly have any belongings left anymore and still...it is still too much shtuff.

Sailing gear, and other sports gear take up space, and my other hobbies (art supplies, beads, paper-making & bookbinding stuff to start, phew!) would take up a lot if I didn't keep uncluttering.

I just want a simple existence. ;)

Perhaps being close to the Lake will assist in me finding some peaceful moments.

I hope all of you are well and Happy Summer!!!

check craigslist.org for FREE boxes!!! http://chicago.craigslist.org/zip/

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Thanks Flames!

Oh boy, looking here I get to see how big Chicagoland really is.

If I find a place within a reasonable amount of driving distance from Westchester, then I'm good to go.

I will be going to my local stores and checking on my way around today.

Free stuff is good!

Oh my God. I was like :dead: when I finished all that cleaning. The carpet shampooer instructions should come with a warning to be physically fit and check with your doctor before undertaking that sort of stuff. You're right Kathryn. By the time I was done I kind of fell on the couch gasping.... and hated the thoughts of moving all that furniture back into position when the carpet dried. I could barely lift my arms  But the carpet looks great and I heartily recommend the Bissell. Except the written instructions aren't quite clear because I really had no idea what I was doing until I'd finished two rooms. But I got it figured out by the time I got to the 3rd room so now I'm an expert. :hehe:

Oh. And Plan B didn't work, either. My husband ended up working late that night so I had to make dinner at home. But yesterday we spent the day in Orlando.... got my drapes returned to Ikea; got my dinner at my favourite restaurant; bought a bunch of sale stuff at Bath & Body; and spent about 2 hours at the jewellery store next to the restaurant trying to decide on a ring after visiting a few other jewellery stores. Didn't buy anything, yet, because I want it to be perfect. The sales guy knows what I want and is going to try to find it. This is my big birthday prezzie from my husband.... it's not because I think I'm a princess and deserve diamonds for cleaning the house.

No, I didn't know there was one there. Might have to try that some day. :) I'll get the real thing in a few weeks, though.

Okay. Off for a walk while my husband goes to the gym. See y'all later.
