ya, we send all the rowdy geese to the USA!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Good morning!! So strange Carla, I actually HAVE that cup and saucer set - it was a Rialto free gift at Shopper's Drug Mart like forever ago... weird.

***

..or the geese just get rowdy when they come here... Imagine if they knew they weren't protected here? They'd freak if they knew that American's talk about shooting them and eating them for dinner.

Spirit, I'm not sure how to get a thorn out... if it's really teeny maybe soak it in warm salt water to draw it out??

Peroxide will also help it move to the surface, eventually it will make its way out :)

Wow I just read the vent thread, haven't done that for a week or so.

Anyway, still don't have a line on anywhere to live in Florida, have received 1 email reply so far and that was from someone who will only rent with a 12 month lease (we want like a 3 month lease while we look around and find a place to buy).

Today we are going to the Royal Bank to sign up for their centura account. I don't much care for the bank, going to one that is. :hehe:

Bahahaha!

Thanks so much Flames, Rhymeswithcandy and Trailmix.

I will look up those sites Flames, and I have salt and I have peroxide.

I am NOT a wuss. Hahahaha! Yes, it is time to reap the rewards of that damned tetanus shot.

Maybe I can even get the thing to explode out of my thumb with the right chemical reaction.

Ooooouuu...I....feel....queazy....bleh :hehe:

Please someone come over and remove this thorn.

I tried the needle (without sterilizing it Flames, are you proud?), and cannot continue being a masochist (before reading all of your helpful responses).

Now, I will try a little bit more, after I try the peroxide, and then a salt thumb bath.

Oh, the drama...

Just a thought but is there anyone in the neighbourhood named Androcles?

I ususally use a needle or a fine pair of tweezers. If it's deep, then wait a few days and it will eventually be dissolved or expelled from the body. You'll get a slightly painful pus-filled sac that will eventually reach the surface. If you are healthy and your immune system is working it's not a problem. If you don't have peroxide use rubbing alcohol. You could always go to a medical clinic or hospital, after all there is nationalized health care in the US isn't there? :innocent:
