QUOTE(Team J and B @ Mar 13 2008, 09:32 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Good morning, everyone!

Speaking of coffee, I'm having one as I read this forum. Ever since my detox/cleanse, I've been taking it black. I used to like it milky and sweet but it's true, once you go black, you hardly go back.

:lol::thumbs:

i like my coffee like i like my women - black, strong, and not sweet at all

Liz - definitely know how you feel, hun. Bee's new job has him coming home not at ten-thirty like he's usually supposed to... instead, it's eleven, eleven-thirty, midnight, and beyond that.

At least there's the weekend :D

Well I started posting here this morning to say good morning then got side-tracked!

Spent a few hours looking at rentals in Florida and emailing people about them, I have also posted wanted ads at kijiji and craigslist.

Soooo now I will go do something materially constructive like sort through some documents or something.

Yay MissStacey for your support of coffeemate!!

Posted

I was looking at craigslist for a barrister bookcase the other day

still haven't gotten a response from the person yet

Oliver refuses to buy any other bookcase for his millions of books

so they've been in a pile for the 4 months..

that needs to get addressed =)

what are you selling trailmix?

oh wait.. are those posts only for rentals that you put up?

Oh Liz, it is so challenging, this vicious cycle thing about wanting to work to make more $, and to have the leisure time to spend with loved ones.

Hmmmm...I subscribe to being poor in bank accounts and rich in life experience and relationships with my peops.

Of course my loving partner is the opposite of me, and needs to have a substantial nest egg before he could ever even dream of relaxing in the kind of way that takes months to loosen stiffness in the body, mind and spirit.

Only people who have taken this time truly understand.

It is one of finding what one can be when work is not the primary focus.

I do not mean to offend everyone who cannot take this kind of time.

I do mean to inspire that:

WHERE THERE'S A WILL, THERE'S A WAY!

It's more than a way of thinking; it's a way of being.

EDIT to add: yes, we debate a lot. :)

I agree! For now, the hubby works because without it, we wouldn't be able to survive. But we look on our free time as something special, considering that we've been separate for so long. It's really about looking at things in perspective - and he knows better not to bring work home with him.

My new sweater from A&F arrived today! It's sad how hard it is for me to find clothes that 1) fit and 2) I like to wear, but this one was a good find, and it is lovely. (L)

And if it can't get any more hilarious... we received a letter from the congressman's office about our case, basically stating that CBP denies any responsibility for my huge paperwork messup. Considering that our case is on the move now, I'm not even sure whether I've got enough left in me to stir the pot up some more. I'm sure the congressman's office is tired of hearing from my mother-in-law at this point

okay.. so here's a major boo-boo I did this morning...

I deleted Oliver's user account on my computer b/c he'd always sign in under my name... and it prompts you to save all the user's files if you'd like.... and place them on the desktop... so I said "yes please"

WELL IT DIDN'T DO IT AND I WAS VERY BETRAYED

so I was franticly wondering how to break it to Oliver that all his English Lit papers that got him to his degree are all gone...... everything story he ever wrote...

keep in mind he's in a very bad mood with his 3 doubles in a row... and other managerial issues and stresses

then I hit google and figured there's got to be an answer... somewheere!!!!

and I came across this program called "Recover my Files"

downloaded

took like literally an hour and a half to scan and come up with files but IT WORKED!!!!

recove36zg.jpg

take that windows xp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

phew....

I think there are still some random stuff missing.. but i'm going to scan it again...

at least I know there isn't a gaping hole in his personal stuff missing!

oh, and not that I need to say this:

DerekKJ: MUM'S THE WORD! since we do see eachother for our double dates.........

I'll tell him in a few days....

:innocent:

cute sweater nini!!

I'll come down and bartend!! Oh wait, that means making the drinks, not pouring them down my throat!! Maybe I best pass!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Nini, your new sweater is gorgeous!

Flames you would just be creating work :hehe:

Wow Liz, glad you found that software, so now you are going to save the stories/papers to CD or DVD??

We are pondering buying a laptop, but not sure if we will wait and buy one in the U.S. or buy one here.

I saved it to my USB flash drive first.. then back to the computer... but I'm glad you suggested to save them to CD/DVD..

gonna do that right now.

Buy a laptop in the US. That way you can buy a warranty and be able to take it in when it starts having issues in 3-4 years..

like adapter overheating.. etc..

Flames 9... Somehow I don't think that would help him =)
