Well I just finished wrapping the gifts, made some jelly salad, now just heating up the oven for some mincemeat tarts. I'm already a bit tired and the festivities haven't even started.

Oh and my Husband is out at the store - he is an xmas eve shopper!!

Hope everyone had a good Christmas and boxing day.

So I got a coffee grinder and some new coffee! Can't remember the 2 types off the top of my head, but the one I have this morning is peruvian and organic, it's actually very very good - smooooth taste - no bitterness (unlike timmies haha).

A drawing table...a place I can truly be creative again. It's not completely put together, but it was enough to get a picture. *sigh* It's so nice to have a "place" once again. :)

No snow here, thankfully, few flurries last night. I think this is quite enough snow!

So I have taken down the tree, packed all the ornaments away, quite a job. All in their totes, ready to be shipped to - wherever we decide to move! yipee!

It's gotten very quiet in here, carlawarla hasn't been back since the Canadian tire store 'incident' :hehe:

Folks, 'holiday' does not mean you don't have to post, immigration does not stop for the holidays (hey that might be a nice saying for a t-shirt??)

Yeah, global warming, CharlesandNessa, means more snow for us. Bah!

As for being absent, Trailmix, you are right about immigration timelines don't stop, although they seem to not move at times. Ha! And as for me, well an imported Chicago-ian (?) cold got the better of me and had me paralyzed for the past 2 days...I am such a pathetic sickly thing when not in full energy. :hehe:

The "be careful what you wish for" adage, Mumsie, is one I have learnt time and again: it is absolutely TRUE.

The price you pay for a wish (or wishes) to come true at times is what is most frightening not to mention not being psychologically ready for your wish to come true.

With nothing left to push up against, I fall forward.

I need staff and a maid at the moment...so much to do...will it get done??? :D

If I get an immigration T-shirt I will be ok with that :)

Stacey, glad to hear you got your EAD, my Brother in Law has been waiting since July 17th - how boring is that. I'll let them know you got yours after 5 months!

Ok so we have been discussing moving and we are aiming for a date of April first (and no i'm not fooling) - which is not all that far away! I have already given away my dining room set and we are going to do an inventory this weekend of what we intend to ship via upack so we can see what we can reasonably take with us and what must be sold or donated to women in need. So it's time to get cleaning and packing - which is not as much fun as it sounds (Spirit you can probably relate to that right now).

We are thinking Lake Mary, Florida, we are driving. My Mom's name is Mary, my middle name is Mary, so Lake Mary seems like a good choice!

Well as long as it is on purpose it's ok :) - last time I went to an unknown hairdresser I asked her to cut it an inch, she cut about 3 - after the first snip it's too late to go back!! So I said that's not an inch! She gets a ruler (getting the ruler in advance is a good idea), picks up the hair off the floor and puts it up to the ruler, then just stands there looking - blank.
