Oh yes...I noticed the craiglist posting about the Canadian Tire money is just about dying...did anyone see my post about the smell of CT? I'm thinking now...either you guys think I"m totally nuts  or, you're stunned and have NO idea what I'm talking about.

I felt very vulnerable :crying: posting this. I didn't know if I should...because it's SO weird. The people that I had shared with in Canada, and who tease me about this, were close enough to me, that I could share this. Help me out here in either telling me I'm a goof, or checking it out for yourself!

Carla (F)

You can share our coffee this morning charles, it's Tim Horton's - Husband got it for his 'secret santa' gift at work the other day.

I didn't see your post Carla but we do think you are a goof! (have responded to it and don't really think you are a goof :hehe: )

Oh and I saw that ebay snowbank thing on the news yesterday, the bids were around $700 at that point. kooky

Ok, that was a misrepresentation. My Husband just got up and said 'how is the coffee'? I said it's a bit bitter - but good. He then informs me he didn't use the tims because he wasn't sure how much to use, so in fact this is the Nabob we always drink.

Just had to clear that up.

I SO wanted to ignore you here.

No Carla. You're not crazy. They have those automatic scent dispensers at the entrance to the store. They fill them with Eau de Rubber Tire. Really.

I've been to other places that have that same rubber smell (gyms, primarily) but I wouldn't be surprised if the local Canuck Tire didn't deliberately scent the air to make you think of them. Probably a great marketing gimmick, as in 'I remember the same smell from my childhood, it reminds me of the time I got my old supercycle.'

Timmies - my brother just sent us a large can of Tim Horton's coffee as part of our Christmas present - YAY! Hehehehe - he didn't bother to wrap it either - knew that would be a waste of time. Phew, I was just about to run out of my last can, too:-).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

im in saskatoon right now--enjoying a XL 3 cream timmies, yummy!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

YUM! My MIL brought two small cans...I'm rationing it out carefully. It's amazing how fast that stuff gets gone in this house.

I broke down and told my husband to stop whining and get a laptop for Christmas, because I was tired of listening to him complain about being "stuck" in his office when he wanted to use the computer and hang out with me at the same time. I best be getting some Godiva in my Christmas stocking for that one!
