I don’t see why you would wait for a lawyer to do that.. just follow the instructions and reschedule the interview.

thank you for the respond, I'm just confused on how I am supposed to do it because when my fiancée went her interview they turn her away because they were not done processing her paperwork yet, but they didn't give a sheet or anything. they just said she would have to wait until I received the instruction first and wait until they process her paperwork. Then I got the instruction to go and re-schedule her interview again. I'm not sure what to click 221g follow up or 221g interview, what does that mean? and do I have to fill out her whole application again?

ok, need more help, I received the embassy instruction to re-schedule my fiancé interview, I'm really confused, can I do that part or do have to wait for our lawyer in Laos to do that part.

It doesnt relate to your question but how long did you wait for nvc to send your case to laos’s embassy to get the interview? Is there a long backlog?

This post just shows a problem here of too much advice on doing things without waiting for instructions. People flood the net with information to cheat the system to get a skip in line when some of those tricks really only work in certain countries. But people give this advice as general advice for all.

This can be such a challenging process! When I called my embassy almost two months after the case was marked READY, I was told to be patient. Hang in there.

She scheduled the interview before receiving instructions and when she arrived, she was given instructions to follow., that clearly indicated she had scheduled the interview too early, but outlined the steps to take. Each embassy handles things differently, and other people in this conversation have sent instructions detailing the process for your specific embassy (quoted and redacted below, but the specific links and phone numbers are at the link that was provided during this discussion). If I were in your position, I would follow the instructions they gave me and schedule that interview.

Please do NOT schedule your interview date until you have received an instruction letter from the U.S. Embassy. Below is the procedure to begin the process of scheduling an appointment online:

  1. Visit the website here, follow step-by-step instructions to create an account, and print a personalized bank deposit slip.
  2. Take the deposit slip to any ACLEDA Bank location to pay the visa application fee. Visa fee payment instructions and options are available at: [website].
  3. Schedule an appointment for the visa interview online here or by phone through the Call Center at +856######## if you are in Laos. Or +1703###### if you are in the United States.
