We had an InfoPass appointment today (100 days after filing for AOS and AP) to inquire why we haven't received anything on our case. We were told that there was an RFE mailed that we hadn't received. The officer was professional enough to call up the MSC and have the RFE faxed to the field office. I promptly sent back the requested documents (tax transcripts, W2s).

My question is: How much longer will this delay the process?

It has been 100 days since we filed and we have already had to cancel one trip abroad because of the AP delay. Is there any chance that they will process AP faster now that they have the RFEs? How about AOS?

Any answers would be helpful.

People here say all the time that an RFE will delay things a lot.

in MY own experience.. i got an RFE, send the papers back on april 17, my case was tranfer to California on april 29 (which means no interviews) and i got my card (on hand) on june 25. Some people get it faster some do not, some have RFE's some dont... USCIS just acts plain weird, no patterns whatsoever.. have faith maybe it will be fast for you.

AND (forgot to add) my work permit didnt suffer ANY delays, i still got it before the 90 days that they promise you. EVEN with the RFE. (as I say RFE was sent on april 17 and on june 9 i had EAD on my hand)

I send my AOS and EAD on march 16, 2007.

09/08/2010 ... Touched. BIOMETRICS CAME TODAY! (notice date/mailed on: 09/03/2010; biometrics for 09/22/2010 at 11 a.m.)
