The need to bring USC husband’s original birth certificate to N400 interview (vawa)

Hello,

I got my inteview scheduled for May 29 in NYC.

I am applying under VAWA after 3 years, now this interview invitation letter mentions that if applying through USC marriage I need to bring his original birth certificate. I have not communicated to him since 2018, and obviously I don’t want to do it. All I have is a copy of his birth certificate. What should I do about this requirement? Anyone had their interview after vawa?

You should be fine with a copy of the BC, or a copy of the passport bio page, and more than likely no one will ask to see them.
