Hi Everyone,

My fiancee' will be arriving at LAX for her POE at the end of this month. I have sort of "off the wall" question. Anyone that is familiar with with LAX.....do you know the color of the shuttle buses that shuttle you to from terminal to terminal? I want to make it easy as possible for her after she gets out of customs and the International Terminal to get to her terminal for her final leg.

I have went to the LAX website and they tell you about the shuttles, but not the color. I just thought it would be easier for her to look for the right color bus, then she can verify by looking at the sign on the bus.

Also, if anyone has any pointers for an POE at LAX, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks guys and gals,

Might be just as easy to tell her look for the letter A as that is the inter terminal route

Thanks, but I don't understand. When she gets out of the Int'l Terminal she needs to get to Terminal #2 for NWA. Why letter "A"?

Because LAX has 4 different shuttle bus routes and the inter terminal route is indicated as ROUTE A (B,C, & D are parking lot routes)

YMMV

It's pretty hectic and overwhelming. Even I have difficulty figuring out which shuttle to take. See if the airlines can assist her - they should be able to tell her before she lands, what terminal she needs to catch her connecting flight, where it's located and which shuttle to take.

Rin and I walked. It was easier than figuring out which bus to get on! If she looks at a map of LAX on the internet she should be able to figure it out; exit Tom Bradley (Int'l terminal), turn left, keep following the sidewalk until she sees Terminal 2 (or the Northwest signs). It is about a 10 to 15 minute walk (OK, it was 10 minutes for me when I was travelling to Bangkok in March; it was 15 minutes when I returned in April with Rin :) ). The walk is well lit and lots of people around to ask directions.

She can probably get to terminal 2 just as fast if not faster walking, and probably less confusing. The international terminal "Tom Bradley" is between terminals 3 and 4. Terminal 3 is small. All she would have to do once she exits "Tom Bradley" is walk towards and past terminal 3, and she'll be at terminal 2. Once shes at terminal 2, she goes up to the 2nd level (departing flights).

Walking is easy if she doesn't have a lot of bags. Experience tells me that if she is moving here for the rest of her life, her bags will weigh about 400lbs. As soon as she gets through passport control/baggage claim/customs, she will make a left and walk the gauntlet of 1000 people waiting for loved ones. Once she gets to the top of the "U" shaped walkway if she makes a left there is an Information Booth and the people working there are great. If she doesn't want to do that when she exits the Terminal tell her to make a left and follow it around to Terminal 2. What day is she coming? I iwll be out there at the end of the month also so maybe I can help if I'm in the area. My fiance is coming from Thailand in September but I'm flying over there and coming back with her.

If her bags weigh 400lbs, then she should seriously have considered shipping rather than taking all that stuff with her!

BTW - if the flight out of LAX is on the same ticket/airline, she can recheck those bags just after going through customs, and won't have to drag them to another terminal.

Lax is pretty straight forward. After immigration she will go straight ahead to luggage retrevial. There are luggage catrs there for free. Then thru customs in same area.

Next up walkway & to the right & out the front doors. Cross to the center median. Wait under the Green sign. All buses come to that point. Shuttle buses are clearly marked. I think the shuttles are white. All have signs & helpful drivers. Any one of them can direct her if she is lost.

Oh, OK. It sounds like the best thing is for to walk to the terminal. She won't have anything except backpack. She has a 3 hour layover, so it should be plenty of enough time. Thanks for everyone's input.
