Hello VJ,

I hope you're doing well.

My partner and I recently submitted our I-130 online on March 26th, 2024, with our service center being in California. Recently, my partner received an email from USCIS indicating that they have taken action on our case. However, upon checking the status, documents, and progress bars, we noticed that nothing has changed. Additionally, we submitted the K3 application one week later after our I-130 application but have not received any updates on that front yet.

Interestingly, in a WhatsApp group that we are part of, some individuals who filed their I-130 between March 25th and 27th, 2024, have reported receiving the same email.

the action would be that your documents have been fed into the computer system

now,  u just wait till an officer opens the case and starts a real review (6 to 12 months from now)

further updates (if u get any) may also say actively reviewed

this happens when an officer reviews paperwork to ensure all documents are there,  all are signed properly and if anything is missing an RFE is sent (RFE is really nothing to worry about )

when officer gets any document(s) the case is actively reviewed again to download new document as the computer generates the "actively reviewed"  notice

Any time someone from USCIS does something with your case, even if it's just open it, you'll get a notification.  They probably just acknowledged your filing as @JeanneAdil stated and you'll probably get a NOA with the case number and priority date mailed to you.  If you log into your MyUSCIS case, find your filing and look at documents, there's more than likely that same NOA in digital copy there.

That would be amazing @Deagle but we're not getting our hopes up 😮 we only filed 3 weeks ago

I've seen fast cases. I filed I-130's and they were approved in about 4 months. Good luck.

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

The trials and tribulations of USCIS notifications.  I believe they are improving but in any case, it will most likely take at least 12 months for them to actually send you a note to go look at your case an a positive response will be there.  Patience is the key but the wait will be worth the wait.  Good luck.

Typically on an I-130 you expect to see "Notice of Action 1" (NOA1).  The action taken at NOA1 is that the case has formally been received by USCIS.  Later on you get "Notice of Action 2" (NOA2).   The action taken at NOA2 is hopefully that the case has been approved.

Regards,

Basically you're not going to see anything yet it's just let you know that they have taken action on your case and like one person said you have to wait till a officer opens it and then you will get a notification which will States we are actively reviewing your case
