How to cancel i130 petition online?

My partner and I are filing for a divorce and need to cancel the i130 petition. It is still in the processing phase, didn't go to nvc or anything, but it was filed online.

i only find instructions about sending a letter to the NVC. Is there an easier way?

If the petition is still at USCIS, you should contact them (USCIS) to withdraw.  You can't contact NVC until you have a DOS case number.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

You write a letter to USCIS to "withdraw" the petition.  Use the case number and both full names and dates of birth.  No reason is needed.  Sign the letter.  No need to notarize.  Mail to service center address indicated on your receipt notice.
