Hi all,

So I interview on 26 Feb 2024 . Office- Mount Laurel, NJ. I am still waiting for the invitation for the oath ceremony. I know if you change your name, you need the ceremony with a judge but how much is the average wait?

No Average, all different depending on location. Ours was 6 weeks without name change.

I’ve read somewhere on reddit, there is a guy in LA with name change, and had the same day ceremony.

if you file n400 with name change already filled out. I supposed it would be quick process.

But i think mostly the waiting time is depend on your Field Office.

I might wrong 😁

Yeah I remember reading something too and made sure to include it in my online N400. Oh well. I am trying to be zen about it but it is hard…

Name change requires a judicial naturalization. And those tend to be less frequent, so if it was same day, he must have been super lucky. Do you have a link to that post?
