I applied at the end of March (25th) and had the choice of using either the 3 or 5 year rule.  Started applying under the 3 year but changed it mid application to the 5 year one as when uploading evidence I realised how much less it would need.  Heard within a day that they will reused my biometrics and have an appointment scheduled for May. Way quicker turnaround than I was expecting!

I applied when I made this post (April 6), and just today got notice of an interview in June! This is *the* naturalization interview, right? I also got a biometric reuse notice too.

My wife and I are starting her N400 now and she has been here over 5 years now. So if I am understanding the comments in this post correctly we should be filing under the 5 year rule which will make things easier for us? Does this mean we wouldn't have to submit evidence regarding our marriage (we have plenty just don't want to deal with the extra paperwork if not needed)?

Correct.  5 year rule is very easy.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..
