I'd love to see whoever wrote this use the typical S. Asian public toilet - no seat, no hook for your stuff, no TP, you're very lucky if there's no visible fecal matter and you've got some water in a jug to wipe yourself with after you do your biz... And then there's the 'mountain toilet' - whatever bush or rock you can hide behind during rest stops on long bus trips...

That is so true, but at least with the Asian toilet, you don't have to worry about SITTING down on anything on the seat-oh wait, there was no seat. LOL. It's called BYOTP (bring your own toilet paper).

I remember a funny thing when we were in Japan. There was this little old man who went to use the toilet. A few minutes later he comes out, waddling with his pants partially pulled up, and goes to his wife. She pulls toilet paper out of her purse, hands it to him, and he waddles back to finish his business.

I still chuckle about that to this day.

I remember reading something like this a couple of years ago - I didn't get it at all! There are either clean toilets you use (and yes, bum on seat  ) or those you knew were icky and didn't go near. I guess I just copied mum that if you needed to go you were prepared to trek halfway across town for a good loo.

Then I moved to the US and everything makes sense now
