Airline requesting ESTA prior to boarding ?? But I have an IR1 (first time flying to endorse it)

Hi

I am leaving Australia on Sunday to fly to the USA to endorse my IR1, but the airline keeps contacting me saying I need to ensure I apply for an ESTA 72 hours before. Do I just ignore these texts and show up at Check In with my IR1 in passport?

This will be my first time flying without an ESTA in to the USA. Any other tips regarding a smooth arrival will also be appreciated - thank you !!! Also I was given no envelope as all docs are uploaded to the ccd

Yes.

ESTA is for those seeking entry on the VWP

You have an Immigrant Visa

Just a reminder to any reader.  There's a difference between reminders, suggestions, requests and requirements.  All these words exist for a reason.  The airline is reminding the traveler under the assumption they will be "visiting" the USA.  Their reminder is only applicable to foreigners flying to visit the USA, not "immigrants" with immigrant visas.

I am a permanent resident and I still get the pop-ups and email reminders about applying for ESTA. I think the website just automatically emails people based on just their citizenship.
