Hello all

My husband is a US citizen and we are looking to bring our family  (wife and 4 kids)  to the states. We are all fully vaccinated except for the covid vaccine. I am wondering if anyone has gone though this and how you went through obtaining your green card. Is it possible to obtain a green card without it or is getting the Jab the only option. Thanks!

Yes.
But, you will have to file a waiver.
Is everyone in the family not vaccinated for all vaccines or just the COVID vaccine?

ETA Filing a waiver will add about 12 months to the process.
Depending on country it will take about 18-24 months if no waiver is required.

Everyone except for my youngest son are fully vaccinated. We didn't feel comfortable with the covid vaccine so we opted to not get that vaccine.

Is the son a U.S. citizen?
How many family members require immigrant visas ?
And do you mean everyone in your family is fully vaccinated INCLUDING COVID. Or Fully vaccinated excluding COVID.

No one is American other then my husband. 5 family members need visas (1adult 4kids) We are fully vaccinated excluding the Covid vaccine. My son has had no vaccines at all

So… you will have to file vaccine waivers for all 5 visa applicants. cost of waiver is about $1000 per applicant. It is understood you cannot submit the waiver until after the interview but one member submitted the waiver before interview and it was approved. He didn’t find out it was approved until 2 months later and hasn’t updated us about if the visa was eventually issued.

Generally, you need to show aversion towards all vaccines not just COVID.
You might want to hire a lawyer to write the waivers for you… but some members have written the waivers themselves.
I’m sure you know “I don’t trust the COVID vaccine” is not a sufficient argument.
