8 USC 1367 is privacy protections for stuff like VAWA and T/U visas. What they really want is a Privacy Act release form. Ask the representative to provide you with one, then you will need to fill it out, print it out, sign it, and mail/fax it over back to them.

USCIS verifies identity by comparing the signatures.

If they already got one and now are just unhappy about it for some weird reason you can just write something like:

My name is [Your name] A#XXX-XXX-XXX, born on [Date of Birth]. I hereby authorize under 8 USC 1367(a)(2) and (b)(4) a release of information regarding case number(s): [Receipt numbers here] to the office of [Congressman/Congresswoman/Senator] [Their first and last name], and allow them to further inquire on my behalf.

___________

[Your name]

Then sign and date that and also include a copy of an ID to further prove that you're an adult, mail or fax this to the the rep's office.

Thanks so much for providing details regarding this in details.

Hello Family, Congressman got an email from USCIS on Friday about my case:  October 2018 filler

We have checked into your constituent's case and have been assured that USCIS is aware of your inquiry and is monitoring progress related to it.

However, unresolved issues in your constituent's case require a thorough review before a decision can be rendered.

Unfortunately, we cannot speculate as to when this review process will be completed.

We realize that your constituent may feel frustrated by delays related to his case.

USCIS must weigh individual inconvenience against the broader concerns of public safety and national security.

Once further action is taken, a decision or notice of action will be sent to the address of record.

We hope this information is helpful.

That is what happened to me as well. I remember we even chatted about it. My Vawa ended up being approved in September 2023 and I did get the card and the approval letter - I'm a November 2017 filler! Still haven't gotten the GC. My I485 did not move since vawa approval :(

Hi everyone

for those doing VAWA abroad through consular processing, IB1/F2A visas, we created a telegram group to help each other because it’s a different process than doing AOS in the US.

If anyone wanna join, feel free to message me for the group link because I don’t know if it’s allowed to be shared here

is your case still stuck at break ground check? If yes then why do not you do your own background check via third party and send the result to USCIS?
