Thank you. My Congress person made an enquiry about it 5months ago, and they said they are working on it, they asked us  to wait  until after 3months before making another  enquiry. It's more than 5months now, no update. I dont want to get them mad, if I ask Congress person to make another enquiry again.

I do not think they will get mad at you. It is well over 3 months time frame. I was calling my congress person every 2 weeks to get the update. They never get mad at me lol. Also try to call USCIS and make an appointment with them.

Out of excitment ,after my aproval December 2022 , I thought I will be call for interview or RFE will be issue within few month because my 1-485 already moved to my local office. I went and did my medical and my child, the medical will be a year in  April does that mean I  have wasted $900 because till now no update on our 1-485.

Sorry we advised not to get medical done until you are notified you need them. When you get notified you will have to do them again.

no really. I think medical is valid for 2 years now. second make the appointment to your field office to find out the status of your i-485.

Medical are valid for 2 years after they have been submitted. You cannot turn in a medical with a MD signature older than 60 days.

Hello guys, I have a question on EAD automatic extension. Does it apply on different EAD categories or should be on the same category ?
i was using a 2years C08 based on asylum that will expire 02/2024 (this what my employer has until now). when my i360 got approved I got a 1year C31 that expired 02/2023. When i360 was approved, I terminated my asylum. Now I sent a C31 renewal last November 2023 so that it can replace the C08 at work because since my asylum has been terminated I can no longer apply for C08 EAD. Does automatic extension apply on this case? C08 expiring next month and C31 pending ? My employer said I need to stop employment until the card because it is 2 different categories and automatic extension cannot apply.
meanwhile I’m waiting for a decision on my i485-290b that needed a i601 waiver

If you terminated your asylum and your C31 is expired, you are working illegally. You have no work authorization. Did you pay the fee to renew C31?

And if they transfer the case to Nebraska, USCIS will send a notice/ case status will change online. Is that right? If neither of these happened, I assume the case is still pending in Vermont. Correct?

If they transfer they will let you know.

HI!

Where should my I131 renewal be sent after having VAWA approved? I already got my I765 under C31 and need my parole to be renewed.

I have a lawyer and he sent me a receipt number starting with SRC which is Texas service center and I don't understand why since I live in NJ

Do you guys have any idea? And SRC is where the renewal is taking longer :( 17 months while other offices are taking 5-9 months

You have to send  the form I765 where is your I-485 (Vermont or Nebraska)

They will ship the form to Nebraska, if your AOS was transfered.

Hello, any advise before filling for Vawa? Any requirements as to how long a person must live in the US Before filling? Thanks in advance

there is no time period. As long as you suffered abuse you can file VAWA. It does not matter when you arrived to USA.

Oboy oboy -- Sunday!  Time for our hilarious, approval-evoking* Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

IMPORTANT THOUGHTS

I put my scale in the bathroom corner, and that's where the little liar will stay until it apologizes.

My mind is like an Internet browser.  At least 19 open tabs, 3 of them are frozen, and I have no clue where the music is coming from.

Hard to believe -- I once had a phone attached to a wall, and when it rang, I picked it up without knowing who was calling, and I'm still alive.

By replacing your potato chips with grapefruit as a snack, you can lose up to 90% of the joy that you still have left in life.

Son:  "Dad, can you tell me about a solar eclipse?"

Dad:  "No, Sun."

Beer is now cheaper than gas.  Drink.  Don't drive.

:P

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hello everyone! It's been a long time since I was here and it warms my heart to see few names that are consistent to be making a difference and big help in this community! I wish everyone a Happy New Year and wish this year will bring a lot of approvals to everyone who has been waiting! I do have a question to whoever is in here who already got their GC through the VAWA. In my case I got it last 2021, my life was getting better and I got a chance to love again, to make the long story short, I got married. This time the marriage is not in anyway like the previous one! This year I am qualified to apply for citizenship but I do have a question, will there be any problem in obtaining the citizenship through the VAWA now that I remarried? I hope somebody can enlighten me on this one! Thank you.

I do not think so, as I have never come accross any statement that states it can cause issue if you are married after Vawa approval unless you are sponsoring your spouse.
