Good evening everyone,

I shared my story back in July 2024, about my VAWA being approved. At the initial stage of filing, I filed i360, i485, i765, and i131 concurrently.

Seeing that my Vawa was approved in July, I reached out to USCIS to check on my i485 which the representative state is out of normal processing time. The representative placed a service request for the i485 a few days ago (maybe a week or two).

Today I got an update on my approved i360 stating that Correspondence was received and USCIS is reviewing it.

I am super worried because my case was already approved and I didn’t send anything to them. Does anything know what this might be or have any experience with this?

Please explain if you can.

Did you receive the approval notice?

Personally i think they just touched your file and that update could be a system glitch.

No I did not receive the approval notice. I only got the 2 year work authorization.

My thing is I placed the service request for the i485 which is out of normal processing time so why are they reviewing the VAWA instead of the i485. Also I learn that my case is now at NBC, I thought from July until now, they would transfer it to my local office.

probably they will send you a approval notice. Let's wait and see if you receive anything from the USCIS.

Other thing i would do is to visit local filed office to inquiry about the i-485.

My VAWA was approved more than 1 month ago, USCIS sent only C-31 EAD without approval notice. After 4 weeks waiting, I reached out to my senator to help request my approval notice from USCIS. USCIS responded in a week saying that they have issued my approval notice — that was when my case status online finally changed to “Case Was Approved.” They also said they sent my 485 to NBC within 1 month of VAWA approval — I haven’t seen any activity on my 485 yet, still waiting!

You need your VAWA approval notice in hand. I would advise you reach out to your congressman to help request your approval notice. If the current status update on your approved VAWA means anything (which I don’t think, probably a glitch or someone touched your file), they will tell your congressman in their response. The update on your 360 may also be as a result of the recent 485 inquiry you made with USCIS rep.

THE CLASSY NURSING HOME

A family whose ailing mother needed constant medical supervision decided to bring her to an expensive nursing home for a day, to try it out.

The next morning, the nurses bathed her, fed her a tasty breakfast, and sat her in a chair at a window overlooking a lovely flower garden.  She seemed OK, but after a while she slowly started to lean over sideways in her chair.  Two attentive nurses immediately rushed to catch her and straighten her out.

Again, she seemed OK, but after a while she started to tilt to the other side.  The nurses rushed back and once more brought her upright.  This went on all morning, with the nurses making sure that the old woman didn't fall.

Later, the family arrived to see how she was adjusting to her potential new home.

"So, Mom, how is it here?  Are they treating you all right?" they asked.

"It's very nice," she said, "except they won't let me fart."
