It is Sunday -- time for our stress-relieving, good-news-evoking* Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

*that is, if correlation = causation

==============================================================

THE MAN, THE CAMERA, AND HIS BUTT

Two guys were sitting in their hospital beds, having a little chat.

The first guy asked the second, "What are you in for?"

"Camera down the throat," the second guy replied.

"Oh, endoscopy?" the first guy asked.

The second guy said, "Yeah, checking for stomach cancer.  How about you?"

"Camera up the butt," the first guy said.

"Oh, checking for bowel cancer?" asked the second guy.

The first guy said, "No; my neighbor's girlfriend was sunbathing and my wife caught me taking a photo."

:P

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

Your jokes truly work @TBoneTX my interview for citizenship just got scheduled. I applied under 2 years and 9 months rule. I’ll keep everyone posted on the final outcome. May everyone going thru this process and interviews receive much more Graces and Blessings. The process isn’t easy but Patience and Perseverance is key.

Hello,

Has anyone travel to Canada with greencard in married name and the passport on maiden name? The last name on greencard is my Ex and the last name on my passport is my father's name.

I was told I only need my marriage certificate to show to them. Thank you.

This should be adequate to show the connection between your maiden and married names.

Hello guys,

I called USCIS to file an outside of normal processing time request for my pending i290B motion to reconsider for my denied I485. My local office responded that they’ll make a decision for this case in 90 days since June 25th, in exactly 13 days the 90 day period will expire. Should I call USCIS again now to remind them that the 90 day period is expiring in 2 weeks without a decision or I wait until the last day and make another enquiry? If I make another enquiry , uscis will tell me to wait another 90 day again.

Whatever is said over the phone has no legal binding. Did USCIS ever send you letter assuring you they'll decide I-290B within 90 days?

As hard as it is, I'd still wait and honor the 90 days, then follow up or involve your Congressman's office.

Wednesday!  It means that it's time for our hilarious, approval-evoking (that is, if correlation = causation) Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

==============================================================

THE RECOMMENDED TREATMENT

A man returned from a foreign vacation and was feeling very ill.  He went to see his doctor and was immediately rushed to the hospital to undergo tests.

After the tests, the man woke up in a private hospital room, and the phone by his bed rang.

"This is your doctor," said the voice on the line.  "We have your test results.  You have an extremely nasty combination of diseases called G.A.S.H.  It's a combination of Gonorrhea, AIDS, Syphilis, and Herpes!"

"Oh my gosh," cried the man.  "What are you going to do, doctor?"

"We're going to put you on a diet of pizzas, pancakes, and pita bread."

"Will that cure me?" asked the man.

"Well, no," The doctor replied.  "But it's the only food that we can slip under the door."

Hello all,

I just paid the immigrant fee, I understand my green card will be mailed to me soon, but when submitting the N400, do I count 2 years 9 months from the day I received the visa, or from the day I enter the US or the day the actual green card gets issued and mailed?

Thank you 🙏

You count from the day specified in your green card.
