Interview - 4/29/24

Approval - 5/10/24

Green card in hand - 5/22/2024

So yeah about 3 weeks between interview and green card in hand. It's crazy how happy a piece of plastic makes me.

Hello VJF Family, I got my LPR through vawa and aware of the 2 months 9 years to file for citizenship. I did last 2 months and this is the response I received after getting a biometric reuse mail. Pls advise on what to do or how to expedite my application as I was not expecting this.

You can't ask to expedite the application.

It’s more evidences for the abuse! I think my old lawyer didn’t send anything but the therapist letter ! While I sent him a pic of physical with a statement! And text threat !
and calling the ice on me ! But idk why I have rfe

It's written in the RFE why they could not find  a case of abuse in your petition.

Hello family, I am October2018 VAWA filler.

Both applications for the renewal of Advance Parole and Work Authorization Permit were sent together in one envelope to USCIS Vermont Service Center, 38 River Road, Essex Junction, VT 05479 and were received by USCIS on April 26, 2024.

Today, I received the receipt notice for my Advance Parole application only, which included the case number.

However, I have not yet received the receipt notice for my work authorization application.

It’s this normal OR When do you think I will get the receipt for work authorization OR what do I need to do ?

Thank you for your assistance.

It's normal. They will mail you the receipt. It might take 10/60 days.

Hey family I have a question!

when my spouse called the ice and fbi in me ! They raid my house with guns and snipers as well

is that a good evidence to send to my rfe

I have the fbi card and an Emile from them and a text and I’ll write a statement how it’s happen and when ?

You can include as part of evidence, but it's not enough to have a VAWA approved just  because they went to your house.

I appreciate you I just found out my lawyer did not send the pic of the abuse and the statement! He only sent the therapist report!

do you think text and statements will work ?
I have a lot of threats text

You should report your attorney to the bar association. Ask him the money back, and hire a descent attorney.

there may or may not be an interview honestly there is no way to tell that. We have seen all different types of cases. You should be happy that atleast its moving.

Thank you very much @Demise ! Did the officer tell you the next steps on the day of interview or were they open about it if you got approved on the spot?
Can you please tell me a bit about their behavior at the interview? I am trying to decipher whatever I felt in terms of their niceness at the interview. They were pretty respectful. I am wondering if their is a connection :)

I got a "can't say, can't tell you an estimate" kind of answer when I asked. I think it's just a job which forces people to act as welcoming as a sign stating "Danger - Active minefield". Walking out of there and thinking "well, things went alright, I guess" is likely the good scenario.

According to my lawyer apparently the interviewer liked me. I did overhear some chit-chat between her and her trainee about her cat and made sure to mention my cats. "No, I don't have any children, unless you want to count my cats", lol. I think that helped cause you know, the interviewer can question you anywhere from just nodding to your brief rehearsed answer before moving onto the next question and grill you to the point that the KGB would think it's a bit much.

THE ULTIMATE CURE

A pharmacist walked back from his lunch to the pharmacy.

As he approached, he saw a man outside the pharmacy clutching onto a pole for dear life, barely breathing, not moving, not twitching a muscle, just standing there, frozen.

The pharmacist asked his assistant, "What's the matter with that guy?  Wasn't he in here earlier?"

"Yes, he was," said the assistant.  "He had the most terrible cough, and none of my prescriptions seemed to help."

"Well, he seems to be fine now."

"Sure he does.  I gave him a box of laxatives.  Now he won't dare cough!"

:P

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

@Sandra G. Hi Family! I received my LPR through VAWA, and I'm now looking to file for my children (15 and 13 years old), who are here with me in the US. I didn't include them in my initial VAWA application, and I don't know if I should file an I-130 and I-485 or something else. I also need to know what documents to submit with my application. I would appreciate your guidance on this.
