This information may help as well. With my N400 application, i requested USCIS to lookup ex-spouse's immigration status and provided ex-spouse's SSN, Alien Number, Fathers name, Mothers name, Place of Birth, Date of birth. Apparently officer was able to look up information and hence no questions were asked to me! i was actually so relieved that no questions related to VAWA or ex-spouse were asked! 🙏

How you requested the USCIS in your n-400 to check the status of your abuser I didn’t see any column or section in N-400 application where we can request the USCIS to check the status of abuser

Congratulations on your success. I have a question that during the interview has the officer asked you about the status of your ex abuser since you mentioned in your last post that you don’t have any proof about his citizenship status.

Moreover has The officer asked you about the passport to show in the interview. The reason to this question is that my passport is expired, but all the other documents are valid and current.

IO did look at my passport as well but it is valid. I am not sure if they consider expired passports as well but make sure to bring that with you.
The officer did ask my my ex wife immigration status but no proof were requested

Please hire a good lawyer. I think it is doable. Just work with good attorney.

I just uploaded a document with my request providing ex-spouse information. And it seemed to have worked

I had uploaded marriage, divorce certificates, tax returns, birth certificate, LPR copy with the application

Since i did not have proof of ex-spouse’s immigration status i uploaded a letter requesting USCIS to look up status based on Alien number

Officer first placed me under oath. Asked for GC, DL, tax returns. Interview was very simple. Civics questions, reading and writing test. N 400 questions. At the end she gave me a letter and mentioned i was approved and that i will get invitation for oath ceremony.

Overall it was a smooth experience. My advice would be to upload all relevant documents online and take originals to the interview. Best part was that no VAWA questions were asked 😊
