Hello Family

Good News is here...
I contacted my attorney's office and they took a whole day to find my GC in their mail finally, I got a call back saying that they had my GC in the office. I picked up my GC and felt so Relaxed...

What a relief, can't explain it in words...

Thanks Family

Congratulations !

Hi guys, I received an update on my VAWA case status stating that my name was updated, although I haven't changed my name or address recently. The only recent update was my lawyer filing for expedited processing in January, which was denied. Any idea what this update means?

Thank you

Looks like they did some action or doing some work on your case. When did you file VAWA?

"Name was updated" and "address was applied" are basically looked at and did nothing status updates, my guess is that in their system putting the case back in the queue involves doing something to it, and these are the simplest options available. Basically - someone took it off the queue to look at it to see if it warrants an expedite and ticked the option for name update in order to put it back.

Hello Family,

Please I need to confirm if I need to pay USCIS fee for the Advance Parole and Work Authorization applications in my case with pending VAWA since 2018.

I would like to inquire whether it is necessary to include a note with my applications to USCIS, indicating that I am filing these forms independently, as opposed to through legal representation. I am considering managing the application process myself, rather than utilizing the services of my attorney because of her fees.

no you do not need to put any note. I think now you have to pay the fees. New rule implemented 1st of april. Just double check on USCIS website.

It's undeniable that our jokes lead to approvals and positive news (that is, if correlation = causation).  Accordingly, here is our Official Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

============================

GETTING THE WIFE'S TEST RESULTS

Mr. Smith went to the doctor's office to collect his wife's lab results.

The lab technician said to him, "I'm sorry, sir, but there has been a mix-up, and we have a problem.  When we sent your wife's samples to the lab, the samples from another Mrs. Smith were sent as well, and we are now uncertain which one is your wife's.  Frankly, that's either bad or terrible."

"What do you mean?" asked Mr. Smith.

"Well, one Mrs. Smith has tested positive for Alzheimer's disease, and the other for venereal disease.  We can't tell which is your wife."

"That's terrible!  Can we do the test over?" asked Mr. Smith.

"Normally, yes.  But you have an HMO, and they won't pay for these expensive tests more than once."

"So what am I supposed to do now?"

"The HMO recommends that you drop your wife off in the middle of town.  If she finds her way home, don't sleep with her!"

:P
