Thanks. For VAWA green card holders applying for citizenship online, do we need to submit proof of ex spouse(abuser) citizenship? marriage certificate(to the abuser)? divorce decree(from the abuser)? proof of bonafide marriage (with the abuser) such as joint bank accounts, joint taxes, joint leases, etc?

Read the instructions carefully and interpret them literally.  :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

It is Wednesday (well, it still is, in a couple of time zones) and therefore time for our Semiofficial Semiweekly VAWA-Thread Joke:

================================================

GOLDFISH BURIAL

Little Timmy was in the garden, filling in a hole, when his neighbor peered over the fence.  Interested in what the youngster was doing, he politely asked, "What are you up to there, Timmy?"

"My goldfish died," replied Timmy tearfully, "and I've just buried him."

The neighbor was concerned.  "That's an awfully big hole for a goldfish, isn't it?"

Little Timmy patted down the last heap of earth and then replied, "That's because he's inside your cat!"

No. Only time when you'd want to submit evidence of their citizenship would be if they were an LPR, you got BX1/BX6/B21/B26 green card, and later they naturalized and you want to make use of the 3 year provision.

If you have 5 years then just check the 5 year option.

If you are adjusting under the 3 year provision, then check other, write something like "LPR for 3 years via VAWA, INA 319(a)", and your IB1/IB6/Z14 green card is proof in itself. If you got a VAWA removal of conditions then you'd want to include the copy of the I-751 approval notice, since that green card will just list the normal IR1/IR6.

Contradictions without citations only make you look dumb.

Hello fam,

I am about to make an international trip AGAIN using my AP. Just checking to confirm there have been no surprises lately with returning to the country. I did not apply for asylum and my combo card is valid until May 2024. VAWA pending since Feb 2020. I will appreciate if someone can tell me anything else I should know/check before leaving. Happy holidays to you all.

Question. So I-485 approved IB6 category. But on approval notice says

Notice type: approval notice, section: alien worker, Form I-140,

coa: IB6,

applicant never filed for I-140, he is VAWA applicant.
what shall he do next ? Write to Vermont and point out the mistake ? Need to send GC card along with as well ?

if that will take time, can he apply for EAD/AP approval as GC is already approved ?

Don’t worry, you are extremely close to approval! Trust me, I was Oct 2020 and my Vawa was approved March 31, 2023. I also did not seek asylum nor was I in removal proceedings. My lawyer also did not apply for AP for me. I missed some serious and important events in my family’s life back home, for which I felt helpless and guilty. So I know how you feel, but trust me, you are close! Did you have any RFE’s along the way? Sometimes that delays processing. I had no RFE for my I-360 and only medical for my I-485.
Take care

THE IMPORTANT PHONE CALL

A telephone rang.

"Hello!" said the caller.  "Is your phone number (444) 444-4444?"

"Yes, it is," came the reply.

"Great!" said the caller.  "Could you call 9-1-1 for me?  I Super-Glued my finger to my phone."

I also had no RFE for my I-360, just approval. You are close to a decision.
