Personally I waited until my then USC fiance received the email from the embassy that described what to do next. That happened a little while after the status changed to "ready".

How long typically does it take to change from "At NVC" to "Ready"? And is there anything I should/could be doing to expedite the status change?

NVC ship  cases to Embassy every 2 weeks or so with some exceptions. Next shipment should be 9 Apr 2024.

Do invoice numbers get assigned once NVC forwards cases to the embassies?  We got a case number because I submitted an inquiry; however, no invoice number means we aren't able to sign in and start on paperwork.

Thanks for the info on NVC shipments though!  We hope our status will change from "At NVC" this week then.  It's been like that for almost a month (sent to Dept of State: Mar 8th).
