Moved from "Interview Pending" to "New card is being produced"

Pretty much what it says in the title: I filed for ROC Oct 2021 and have been in the "Your case is ready to be scheduled for interview" stage since Oct 2022. Radio silence from then until today, when I suddenly got an email saying "Your new card is being produced".

Did I skip the interview somehow? Is there some reason to print a new card pre-interview? Has anyone else had this happen?

No.  Looks like your interview was waived.  Congratulations...

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

If you missed the interview, you would've had case denied.

Congratulations, it seems like somebody who looked at your file concluded your case was strong enough to approve without interview.

Expect approval notice in few weeks, followed by Green Card in separate mail in another several weeks.

Once you get approval letter and GC in hand, make sure to take digital and physical copies just in case. And then get yourself some treat as you survived I-751!

Oh my goodness. I mean I'll believe it when the green card is in my hand, but... phew. Thank you both, now I can wait for further updates from USCIS without getting too stressed!

Of course instead I have a fun NEW thing to stress about, namely that even though I reported my change of address to them last year I'm pretty certain their files never got updated... so I was counting on making them update my address at the interview. But that one at least I might be able to fix with a phone call.

Agree.  It's difficult to explain just how much different (better) life is without the cloud of USCIS hanging overhead...LOL.

Haha yep 100%, I don't qualify quite yet but I'm coming up on the 5 year mark this November :)

Applying under the 5 year rule is extremely easy compared to the I-751. This is all we uploaded for wife's N-400 (5 year rule):

5 years Tax transcripts
Proof of my 1st marriage Termination
Proof of Wife's 1st Marriage Termination
Wife's Green Card
Our Marriage Certificate

Yes.  That is all I uploaded for the N-400 application.  The I-751 and N-400 are separate entities.
