Hi All, has anybody used Global Entry to enter the US while on extension letter?

I have Global Entry expiring in 2026 and just received my 48-month extension. Wanted to see if there is any way in which I can continue to use GE during this time. For example, is it possible to edit the expiry date of my GC in the GE website to 48 months from now? If not, can I still use the dedicated Global Entry lines and passport control booths instead of the regular line?

Thanks!

Yes you can continue using Global Entry even with pending I-751. I travelled several times.

The worst case you will have to see a human if machine tells you to.

Once I had full face recognition kiosk which never asked me to scan documents - it was seamless.

Other times is prompted me to scan document. I've read before LPR is supposed to use GC to enter the US. So with expired GC and extension letter it obviously didn't work and I had to see a person every time.

Now I learned you can use passport instead. I cannot test it now since I have a 10 year GC already.

I heard people updating their Global Entry profiles by extending validity if GC based on extension letter. I have not tried that since I was worried it wasn't right to do. Whenever I spoke to Global Entry personnel at enrollment center (I tried walking in twice), they said they cannot update system from their end with extension letter.

I'd try updating expiration in profile and entering on passport if you're brave enough. Otherwise you can always use GE line and see a person.

Can you apply for Global Entry on an expired GC and extension letter? After searching the forum most of the information I came across related to people who already had GE before their conditional GC expired. Thanks!

I don't see a reason why not. You're LPR whether you have 10 year GC or expired 2 year GC. You'd be bringing conditional GC and extension letter as well as passport to the interview for Global Entry.

Will take a look then, I wasn’t sure if there was something in the electronic application that would make it difficult to fill out with an expired GC, much like what happens occasionally with travel document info for airlines, although admittedly we haven’t tried yet.
