Your AOS interview is in May, so once you have your Green Card you do not need an EAD card.

You can go to Social Security and request a new social security card without the "Valid for work only with DHS authorization". This new unrestricted card, with your GC, is in effect your work authorization.

Oh I know that, sorry if I confused you. It's just that on your timeline it says that your AOS interview is 05/24/05-------AOS interview, so you should receive your GC before your EAD expires in October.

Oh God, my brain is gone on vacation (they say that happens when you're pregnant!!)

I'm sorry, my mistake, you had your AOS interview May 2005. Have you not received your Green Card yet?

If you went to your AOS interview, and were approved, and all you are doing is waiting for the actual "green" card to arrive in the mail, you do not need to reapply for EAD.

I think Cassie is incorrect. My understanding is that, if you have not received your green card, or the I-551 stamp in your passport, then you must file to extend your EAD before it expires. Since EADs take about 3 months to process, I would suggest that you file for a renewal by July 13th.

I would also begin questioning as to why the green card is taking so long. Perhaps make an Infopass appointment to check on it's status?

Yeah, I've heard that there is no information that you can get at Infopass when your case is waiting for the FBI name check. My wife is in the same position.

You will not get the green card or passport stamp until the name check is complete and your case has reached final approval. So, you will need the EAD approval, as I mentioned in my previous post.
