In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

My husband is from Canada and moved to Ohio. He has his work permit which expires in June 2025. Out of curiosity, how do you renew it? So that way he can continue to live in the states with me. Thank you.

To my understanding the employment authorization is not renewed, you have to apply and be approved for adjustment of status. Then once approved you get permanent resident card and that overrides the eac card

Okay. We did apply for I-485 and they are currently working on that application because we had to do a RFE

If you don't have the Green Card by then, my understanding is that 6 months prior to expiration, you file another I-765 and mark the box below.  Of course, a Green Card supersedes the need for an EAD

Okay.. I hope we get news soon on his green card application. So, I guess if we don’t hear anything about the green card, we’ll probably have to renew the EAD in December 2024.
