My fiancé was part of F4 petition (her uncle filed for her mother) in June 2006 and it was DQ in April 2021 but was stuck in covid backlog.

While her F4 petition was in backlog, I filed K1 visa petition for her in march 2022 which was approved and interview was done in Oct 2023.
After her K1 visa interview, she was given 221(g) and was requested document (original Family Regestration certificate) and Islamabad embassy also kept her passport. We submitted the document and after that her case was sent to AP (currently in AP).

Now today, my Fiancé has received email that their F4 visa is scheduled to be interviewed in Islamabad embassy (same embassy where she had her K1 interview) in April 2024. She is still part of the F4 visa due to CSPA calculation.

I guess we are trying to brainstorm and find out if she should reach out to the embassy and request her passport back and go to the F4 visa interview with the passport or she should just go to the interview and let them know that the embassy has her passport for K1 visa AP? Is it worth it to go to the F4 visa interview while being AP for a different visa category?

TIA

I would definitely go to the F4 interview, but I am not sure what to do about the passport.  I assume she has another form of ID, so she can explain to the consulate that they already have her passport, but I am not familiar with Islamabad, so I am not sure if she can even get inside for the F4 interview without a passport.

Good Luck!

I would reach out to the consulate and explain she has an interview coming up and ask if she should get her passport back or organize to show a different type of identification when going to the interview.

Thank you for your responses. We did reach out to Islamabad embassy via email. We asked them if she should get her passport back or if she can bring a different form of ID.
The embassy responded that she can just bring the interview confirmation letter as form of identification.
