Hello everyone,

I guess this has been asked before, but I do not know how to look for it. I am a stay at home mom and I do not work. I am a US citizen and I am in the process of bringing my mom to the USA. I am in the process of: Affidavit of Support (AOS) Documents. I need to submit my tax return (which I fill jointly with my husband) and the AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT FORM.

The question is which form do I need to fill? I-864 or I-864A... or both? My husband is going to be the sponsor.

Thanks!!

1.  As the primary sponsor, you must complete and submit an I-864, not an I-864a.

2.  Your husband can file an I-864 as the Joint sponsor.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

You can be a Student and still have an income.

Hello everyone!

I am 34 and back in college. I am also a stay at home mom I do not have income.

When I fill the form i864, I guess I have to put an income of $0.0. However, my husband is going to be the sponsor (we are well over the poverty line). We fill our taxes as a married couple of course.

I am having troble with that form. what should I do for part 6? I am a stay at home mom to my children. I do not know what option to pick.

I appreciate feedback about how to properly fill de I864 for people who can relate to my case.

I can find insurance for my mom, luckily she is healthy!

Thanks

The person who really needs to read the I 864 is your Husband as he needs to fully understand his commitments,

Hello, you need to file both I-864 and I864A (spouse as household member).
