hi neel06,

You can just state that in a statement written by you explaining your situation. for the peace of mind, you might wanna get it notarized..?? I think they are mainly interested in your latest/current tax return to see how much are you making at this point and if you will be able to support your spouse once in US. According to, you dont need to worry about 2004 year taxes. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong on this one..!!

Hello neel,

We only submitted two years of ITR (2006 and 2005) with the trasncript (we requested from IRS). The CO did not even bother to look for the 2005 income.

Three years is a guideline, not a requirement. If I were you, I would submit two years and a couple pay stubs as current as practical. If they don't show year to date income, then show a few months of them.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous

neel06,

You don't have to do anything about year 2004. The fact that you were a college student at the time is a fine explanation for the low income.

The current income guideline applies to current income. Your previous income does not need to meet the current guideline, although it helps if it does - it shows that your current income is stable and sustainable.
