My husband who is Moroccan would like to bring his sister (who is Moroccan) to visit for a couple weeks.

I understand that she needs to apply for a B-2 visa.

She does not work, and is not married or have children in Morocco.

She IS the only single child left, and lives with her father to take care of him and his home. Their mother stays in Italy to help his brother take care of his daughter.

Her only real ties are taking care of her father.

If she could show airplane tickets to and from America, would this help her show she does not plan to "immigrate?"

We do not want to get her hopes up, or waste money and time trying to help her get the visitor Visa if it is unlikely.

What else could she show that would prove ties to Morocco?

Thank you!

Tracy

You are correct in assuming she might have a difficult time getting a visitor visa if there are not real ties holding her back to Morocco. Does she own property? Does she have a large bank balance to show she gets income locally (i know you said she doesn't work, but rental property etc.?). Being unmarried and having no children does not really help her situation. I have read in various posts that like India, Morocco is seen as a high fraud country, so just having a return ticket won't be enough.

Good luck.

You can only apply and see, its $100.

She owns nothing. She lives with their father. They are well off, however, as his father is a retiree from the gendar merie royale. They have 2 full fridges in the house, several TV's, and a very beautiful place. She gets any and everything she wants (though she is not spoiled) She is 29 now, I believe.

She definitely doesn't have a reason to want to come to America to stay, when she has a perfect life in Morocco without needing to support herself.

The least we can do is try, I guess, and see what happens. We would like to plan 3 weeks to a month of fun things for her to do and see while she's visiting. Would us sending an invitation with a vacation plan help at all?

Thanks

Tracy

Hello,

applicants for visitor visa must show that they qualify under provisions of Immigration and Nationality Act. The presumption in the law is that every visitor visa applicant is an intending immigrant. thus, individuals applying for visitor visas must overcome their presumption. Applicants must demonstrate that they have a residence in their country which they don't want to abandon, that they wish to enter the USA for a specifically limited period and that the purpose of their trip is to enter the USA for business, tourism or medical assistance.

Tell her not to get her hopes up... she can apply for the visa and see what happens. IMO from what you mentioned though the chances do not look too promising.
