You'll have to persuade USCIS it should be processed free. You can try, but there's a high chance USCIS will expect fee for I-131

no it's free if you filed before April 1st

I know it is, but USCIS rejected some I-131 received in late March 2024 asking to pay the fee which wasn't yet in effect. And we're expecting them to honor fee schedule prior to April 2024 in August.

It's all simple and straightforward to us, but simple things are like rocket science for USCIS.

I'd attach a copy of I-485 receipt with I-131 and a short letter explaining how the fee does now apply for this filing.

Since i got my AP card, I left US on 19 August to visit family.

Today i took my phone off flight mode, and got an sms that: We have taken an action on your case. Sign in etc... But there is no change under myUSCIS, and nothing new under documents.

Should I ask Emma, or wait for an update on myUSCIS?

Sorry to barge in, but you said your case was finalized though this was your latest time stamp info? Or did it change afterwards? I'm trying to figure out if them 'touching' your case means anything other than someone clicked on your file (i.e. Emma agent gathering info) without necessarily meaning it went to an adjudicating officer.

Thank you, and congrats!

Been 7 months since filing EAD and AOS and no action other than biometric yet. This is ridiculous.

7 months since you filed?

Average processing times for AOS over the past Fiscal Year is 13.6 months. https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/historic-pt

I am concerned about EAD not being processed for 7 months. I see most getting approved in 2-3 months. Some even had heir AOS approved in that time without expediting or anything.

It varies quite a bit by service centre. Looks like you're NBC? So 6.5 months is the published processing time, hopefully you'll hear very soon.

Yes...it does vary widely. Got my card through NBC (well MSC now part of NBC)...approved within ~2.5 month on my end, with card in hand just shy of 3 months. It will happen, hopefully very soon for you!

Biometrics appointment (Detroit) 8/15/24; NOA dated 27/26/24; NOA received 8/5/24
