How do you find an interpreter for the interviews?

I have no idea how to use this site but I am trying. We failed one interview in June because we could not find an interpreter to bring with us. Now we have another appointment next week and still cannot find a Chinese-English interpreter. Tried acquaintances and the internet to no avail yet. Did you contact the closest Chinese Consulate, or the Chinese Embassy? Maybe they have a list of people who could do that.

Check also universities who teach Chinese.

Can't you translate what your spouse says? Does USCIS refuse to take it into consideration because you do it yourself?

Can you translate for your spouse during the AOS interview? My husband speaks English, but I'm sure he would like some things clarified in Spanish. I'll get him ready for the commonly asked questions in the meantime.

No, I do not speak very much Chinese [mandarin]. They require a live translator to appear with you.

Sorry to hear about your situation. Maybe you could call local hospitals and see if they have anyone who is a Mandarin-English translator? Many hospital translators work Pt or as needed, you could explain your situation and offer compenstation for their services. If the person does not have to be certified/employed as a translator try local unviersities that have foreign language departments. Also might want to try Univerisity of Florida in Gainesville, its a little further, you might have to pay travel expenses.

Try the city or county court system. They have lists of translators they can call upon when necessary to be sure that participants in legal procedings understand what is being said.

Well i use to work as an interpreter at Network Omi, maybe u can fin a way that they can help you out! Usually large firms of lawyers use this tipe of service for special reasons like this!
