Hello!

Hope someone could help me here.I'm currently living here in the USA. I applied for IR1 and IR2 for my wife and my 6 year old son. We finally got an interview for them last Februaryn 15, 2024. My wife was approved for IR1 and unfortunately my son's IR2 was refused because the consul was saying I'm already a US citizen when my son was born so we have apply for a CRBA. When my wife and son got to the interview for the CRBA, the consul said the father (ME) did not meet the 5 years residency in the USA. Now my problem is, is it possible to switch back to IR2 visa for my son? my wife's IR1 visa will expire on April 26, 2024. We don't want to leave our son in the Philippines with our relatives. Please help us.

Thank you

Yes, and  you will need to contact the Consular Immigrant Visa Unit directly to accomplish it.
